Typically I try to give places the benefit of the doubt. However, I wish I would've listened to my gut about Hedingham Townhomes. This was my first place ever, and I was super excited that I got approved to be on my own. However, parts of me wish I never got approved because my stress level has increased drastically since living here. Upon arrival on our first day in our new place, it was still unfortunately dirty from the previous tenants. So again, I tried to have a positive outlook on the future. Now getting everything moved in was a nightmare, door handles were falling off doors, the outlets had wires hanging out falling everywhere. Most cabinets were missing knobs, almost every door in the establishment would not latch shut. There were marks everywhere on the walls from previous tenants as well as drawings and pictures left hanging up in some rooms. THE FRIDGE WAS FILTHY AS WELL AS TOILETS & SHOWERS!! Now, moving on to actually living there. We had to call DAILY because our AC unit would freeze up. Which I had to start taking pictures because I felt they did not believe me considering it would take about 3-4 days before I actually saw a maintenance man. When I contacted the office about the insulation in our home being faulty (which was obvious looking at our bill sky rocket) Patricia claimed to me that this was normal. She refused to send someone out to look at it even against me begging to have someone sent out. So on top of a fairly high rent we had to pay 10x extra for AC that barely worked. We even stayed with friends some days because it was unlivable with the heat the way it was. Several times upon arriving home from being at work I would find all the doors unlocked and every light turned on, when I questioned them about this they stated I must have forgotten the lights and doors. On top of all that, it's a daily routine to hear about someone's car getting broke into. I even had my wallet stolen from my car. I could keep on listing more issues but it would take all day. Fred Smith Company all around is horrible. I lived in the apartments above the shops for about two years. They are so cheap, cut corners, and are crooks. They never kept up the maintenance on our apartments. Couldn't even blow off the porches or put out salt during ICE storms. Went without AC for 4 days in the middle of the Summer because our motor to the fan went out. Had a leak in the master bathroom that took 3 people to come look at just to get the water to stop then they never came back to fix the actual ceiling damage.They just come right into your home whenever they deem necessary, no call, no knock. My wife and I never tried to complain unless a last resort as we both have worked in customer services and know what it's like but what really pushed over the edge was the outrageous bill we got when we moved out. They sent us a bill for over $1300 for all kinds of ridiculous things. We asked around after the fact about our experience with them and apparently it's not all too uncommon. Please, take my review serious and know you dodged a bullet by not living there. If you have any doubts please just ask around. read more
