Second attempt: STILL OVERPRICED and DISAPPOINTING. Food is always dry. This time I had the SMALL, OVERPRICED spaghetti and meatballs w garlic bread (2), meatball sub, and salad. I paid $50 for his crap!!! The spaghetti is a SMALL serving and cost $12!!! The sauce was dry- which I don't even know how that is possible!!! And they give you two small meatballs, and charge $2.25 for each additional! I can damn near buy a lb of meat for that price!!! The meatball wasn't even well-seasoned. The sub was also underwhelming - same disappointing sauce, but the meatballs are bigger. The salad was the cheapest and largest item. This place will NOT get a third chance from me. I like the fooood but please keep your mask up. One guy had his mask almost on his chin and he was making pizzas and talking with other guys. I even told the guy to pull his mask up when he was talking to me because it was STILL on his chin, but still his mask was never completely on. Plus I waited too long for this pizza. Needed a big patience to wait even the online order within 45 min promised. Taste seems usual and average compared to others nearby. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have used yelp for years and finally started up an account just to leave this review... Thats how terrible this place is. I have tried this place multiple times over a few years when visiting family as there are not many options in the area. On 2 occasions (this most recent being my absolute last) I have gotten violently ill from whatever they do to the ingredients they use here. This most recent visit, both myself and my partner both got violently ill within 3 hours of each other for a day and a half. Unfriendly, entitled workers to boot. The folks working here look and act like people you wouldn't want vacuuming out your car, much less preparing or handling your food. And did I mention ridiculous prices..... Over $60 for two small "large" pies and 3 fountain soft drinks. These folks obviously take advantage of being one of very few restaurants in the area and their prices are close to what Spago would charge for a pie, and they kill it every time. This last visit to this establishment almost killed ME! On the contrary, if pizza is in your future; drive about 10 minutes away to the "CROSS EYED COW." Awesome people, always friendly, gracious and their pies are innovative, dynamic and delicious down to the crust. Haven't tried their sandwiches but I've been wanting to. The atmosphere at the cow is great inside and out. Too far? then: Do yourself a favor and try Sushi plus down the street from fratelli's (1 block east). They are the polar opposite. Top notch service, food, excellent selection, decent atmosphere, very fresh fish and ingredients and every last thing we have ever ordered there tastes like it was crafted by the gods. First of all, they offer gluten-free pizza. They are careful and take proper precautions to prevent cross-contamination, which is something super important to those of us with Celiac and food allergies. I have to admit that I was really surprised to even find gluten-free pizza in such a small town in the middle of the desert, let alone a place that actually understands the importance of proper food prep for dietary restrictions. AND the pizza is genuinely GOOD. The crust is perfect, even my gluten eaters love it. They load the toppings on. Everything seems fresh, baked right there, arrives to the table hot. Price is as I'd expect for good pizza. No complaint there. Service has always been great... employees are friendly, well informed, helpful. I eat here every time I'm in town. read more

Was here with my realtor who made the recommendation. Ordered the "Meatball Sandwich" with provolone cheese and extra sauce. It was AMAZING!!! The first time I ate here I got a burger, which was very delicious nice and juicy . But after a while the more I started going the more they got lazy the burger was very dry and gross idk if cause they cook wanted to leave already or plan flat lazy . Only pizza place in helendale area to order from after a hectic day. Way overpriced but ordered anyway. Showed up to pick up my pizzas after 20 min (the amount of time I was told on the phone) and still had to wait another 15 min. After I got the pizzas home I realized this was NOT what i ordered. I called and got an attitude from the woman I talked to. As if this was my fault? I had to drive back to the pizza place and switch out my pizza for the right one. Got the pizza order wrong so we had to wait for a new one. It was suppose to have extra cheese-wrong. The employees were more interested in standing around and gabbing than serving the customers. Must have previously been Pop's Pizzaria as that's what came up when I did a search. Fairly decent pizza, and I have eaten a LOT of pizza in my life! Although, a bit pricey, but not overly expensive considering the cost of bringing supplies in to this oasis in the desert. Helendale and adjoining Silver Lakes is a most amazing find in the desert, halfway between Victorville and Barstow on Historic Route 66. But, back to Fratelli's. The pizza had a good fresh taste - we got the Meat Lover's pizza. Crust was good, but toppings slipped off when lifting slices out of the take out box. I did have a "discussion" with the cashier as the Meat Lover's Pizza was on the list of Specialty Pizzas, which were priced at $17.99. However, the menu board hanging from the ceiling had the price of the Meat Lovers listed on the board at $18.99. While I did argue the point of the confusing pricing, rather than go home hungry, I coughed up the extra $1 as the cashier said the Meat Lover's would be off the specialty list the next day. The food is allllways good. Every time. What's disappointing is the service :( usually I order for delivery but the last two times I have dined in and ordered to go. When my two young daughters and I dined in, they seemed confused. We waited to be seated. No other people eating inside but our table was dirty with pizza sauce and leftovers all over. We waited for a really long time. Finally I went up to the front (where I waited for about 5 minutes) and asked about our food. They were still confused and said it will be right out. I ordered pizza and spaghetti. They brought the pizza out, I waited 10 minutes before going back and asking about the spaghetti. They apologized and brought it out. Then we had no forks. I had to go up to the front again and ask. No one came to the table the entire time we were there. Then today I ordered to go. They told me 25 minutes so I waited 30 and headed over. I waited in the front for about 10 minutes while the employees talked amongst each other and made uncomfortable eye contact every now and then. I had to say "excuse me, I had a to go order" which made me feel like I was bothering. After I paid, I watch them piece my order together. I was so excited to take my food to work and eat but they forgot the ranch to my cold wings and didn't pack any silverware for my salad. I don't write many reviews but I hope this brings some attention to the owner about the staff because this place can be great. read more

Pretty impressive pizza... And the salad was good too. This is coming from a guy with an obviously strained relationship with anything of nutritional value though, so my "salad" had a ton of salami, cheese, and general awesomeness in it. De-lish. Staff was a little harassed and harried during the Sunday lunch crowd, but still managed to sling a pizza, salad and 7 drinks to my family and I in record time. Extremely annoying to be avoided when you go in and wait for a to go order, just placing it took 20 minutes. Pizza was mediocre, service was slow and they weren't even busy. They pay more attention to each other and phone calls than the person in front of them. Do yourself a favor and go to Cross Eyed Cow Pizza, just down the road in Oro Grande. They have excellent service and way better pizza. Gave it two stars because eventually I got our food and it was edible. UPDATE: just got threatened to stay away by "RICO V" and insulted as to my alleged sexuality and the size of my alleged husbands penis.
