You'll want to thank me in a profound way, is what I'm saying. I recently moved back to West County. My previous hairdresser retired, like, that day. But she recommended Rebecca and said I would love her. And I do. You will, too. She moved here to get some sweetness in her life after working in New York and Beverly Hills and teaching and working on movie stars and models. You know how sometimes you just get lucky? You get the best parking place in front of Costco or you bump into the love of your life in line at cvs? Going to Rebecca is like that. A rare and certifiable hair genius. She gave my absolutely ghastly hair the best cut and color maybe ever. She resurrected my head. The cut is so cute that I don't even bother blowing it dry. Really. The color is wonderful and lasts and lasts. I guarantee you will be so happy. As if that were not enough, she is a spectacular human being, deep and warm and kind. Go treat yourself. Nobody asked me to write this review. No kickbacks, no bs.

I will start with the positives because this is a special place. The grounds and meditation garden…read moreare absolutely stunning. There were several spots to sit and have a quiet moment on the property and there was tea and water and nuts available in multiple spots. I had the cedar bath followed by the fusion massage. The cedar bath is a very unique experience and felt grounding and comforting. It was indeed special and a unique experience and it is something I will likely come back for. Now the not so positive...the showers and changing rooms are quite small and very well lived in. The shower curtain had a mold like smell and considering how immaculate the gardens are, I am surprised they have not invested some funds into updating the indoor facilities, especially because the services are priced fairly high. I went on a Monday and my locker room wasn't busy but I can imagine it may get busy on the weekends because they are small and do not have much room for more than 1-2 people at a time. My massage was mediocre at best. I regularly get Swedish massages and do not require a lot of pressure but the massage therapist was very gentle and at times I felt like I was being softly pet and not massaged. I asked for more pressure five times and after that it started getting awkward for me. She also did not ask me if I wanted my scalp massaged and did this at the end and left my hair quite oily. I normally agree to the scalp massage but did not want to wash my hair after. In all the massages I have had, the therapist usually asks before using oil on the scalp. Finally, I paid the upgrade fee to have my massage in the Pagoda. It was a hot day so the therapist kept the door open and then later shut it due to bugs. After I left I counted (and took some pictures which I will spare the internet) of 9 huge mosquito bites. It's been 12 hours and I am still itching! I think I will give this spa one more shot because of the cedar bath but I may skip the other services.

I was vacillating about whether or not to spend the money on hiring a professional makeup artist…read moreand hair stylist for my son's wedding. (My son's wedding date was July 28th at Tre Posti St Helena.) I asked my soon-to-be daughter-in-law if I could pay to use services of her professionals, after the bridesmaids were all set. She said that there simply wouldn't be enough time, as the artists & stylists were also assisting her mother, aunts, grandmothers, etc. Stephanie however gave me a great piece of advice "You will only be a MOG (Mother of the Groom) once, so you won't regret it if you hire someone to look your best!" I began searching Yelp for the St Helena area, and after reading the positive reviews of Victoria Wallet, I sent her an email. She responded immediately and suggested that I set up an appointment for a trial session. Unfortunately, I simply did not have the time to do this as I was leaving to attend my nephews wedding in Tuscany, and then hosting relatives from all over the world coming for my son's wedding. We emailed back & forth about the price, date & time of the wedding, location of my hotel etc. I also emailed her photos of myself. We then set up a date & time for us to chat on the phone. She asked what hairstyle I wanted, and I said, " I want an up do chignon that is classy, but I have baby fine hair." Victoria told me to go on Amazon and purchase "ponytail hair extensions". I was so pleased because the hair extensions were the same color as my hair! The day of the event, I was nervous in my hotel room. But Victoria was on time and quickly put me at ease. She assessed the lighting in my hotel room, laid her tools out on the bed and table and set to work! Victoria has incredible talent and an awesome personality. The hair extensions looked so natural - see the photos I posted! Also, I've never had airbrushing before and I really like how it covered and smoothed out my skin without feeling like the makeup was caked on giving a flawless, natural-looking appearance! I also wore false eyelashes for the first time and they looked fabulous! I loved my hair and it stayed up all night. My makeup held up the entire night with the heat and dancing. Victoria's professionalism and personality made the day of the wedding that much enjoyable.
