My husband and I drove through Mikkeli while staying in Imatra for a week, looking to experience Lake Saimaa more thoroughly, and we happened upon this place for lunch. He wasn't very hungry, but I was. After being given menus in English (thanks for having those!), I ordered a white wine with the pesto and goat cheese pasta, and my husband had a cappuccino with the gourmet burger. Our bartender and server, Sara, was definitely not a native English speaker, though she spoke it well, and when I originally ordered my wine, it was through conversation, not the menu. I was unhappy with what I received, having expected a light, dry white wine and having received something very yellow and oaky. I hesitantly asked her if I could trade for another, and she brought me a wine menu and began to ask me what I'd like more specifically. We figured it out, and she happily brought a replacement. On the topic of Sara, we watched her work non-stop throughout our lunch; I think she had the whole hotel/restaurant under her charge, or it at least seemed like it.
