I just visited the Frankston Pain Clinic as I have Polymialgia Rheumatica, Scheuermann's Disease (chronic lower back pain for more than 30 years), severe sciatic pain (I can't walk more than 1 isle at the supermarket before my leg gets horrible pins and needles and severe widespread pain down my right leg) and recently very painful bursitis in my leg. REVIEW: I can only describe my appointment as absolute hell!!!!! The pain specialist was dismissive, arrogant, unkind, terrible bedside manor and has left me with NO HOPE of any type of medical relief for any of my 3 pain diseases. AND he even said that he saw no signs of sciatic pain and I said that's because the bursitis pain is in the same leg and is masking the other pain, he still said that he disagrees that I have sciatic pain whereas the other specialists and my GP have clearly recognised that I DO have severe sciatica. I'm left speechless, The doctor that I saw, should not be dealing with patients who are living with debilitating chronic pain as his arrogance made him incapable of hearing what I was saying. Plus when you go for your appointment 70% of it is spent telling his NURSE and NOT himself and then the nurse tells the doctor why she thinks you are there (thus he gets second hand information and does not bother to spend the full time with the patient).
