My child attends school at this location ...it's her first year here and so far it has been a nightmare ...well let's start off with I switched my daughter school due to the the teachers not taking the time to actually teach my daughter the basic of kindergarten such as learning her ABC and sounding out letters to make words ... I thought well it's time to look into a new school for 2022-2023 but this school has been worse .I wrote her teacher a couple of times but never responds to my emails regarding my daughter class work . She doesn't give out homework I received my daughter report card & it seems as my child is failing and the teacher hasn't come forward to having a teacher parent meeting... it's just a-shame . read more

I have had my little girl in private school her entire life. I paid thousands upon thousands to ensure my child had a "wonderful" education. I am here to tell you that compared to 2 very "highly rated" private school, Franklin Academy has them both beat by far!!! So to everyone out there that is wondering what to do with your chil, do NOT chose any private school! I learned that all 3 of my children were extremely "high achievers" according to the private schools. Both of my sons graduated with honors from two separate private schools. My oldest decided he did not want to go to college Good for him, he's doing great helping my father with the family business. My younger son graduated with a 3.9 a couple of college credits under his belts but couldn't get into a regular university to save his life. He tried all of them. Now the Christian Universities were sending him scholarships left and right but non of us are big on religion and simply put our kids in private school believing it was the best option. Boy this past year really showed me just exactly how bad I messed up. I asked my son where all his friends were going to college, not one of them were accepted to any major university. They were all going to either our community college, a Christian college or none at all. My mind was blown. That's when I did my research and discovered that private schools do not have to go by ANY state guidelines and 99% of them give extremely easy curriculums to make the parents happy with their grades. I pulled my dau out in January of last year to ensure she got into Franklin Academy due to it being an IB school, there's a long wait to get in. Fortunately, the week I called and explained the situation to the principal a child had left 4th grade and they literally called me and said, "your daughter starts tomorrow". I had to call her at her old schoo, requested that she be put on the phone with me and I explained to her what was going on and she and all of her friends said their goodbyes. She gets into Franklin and I see that they are preparing to write an essay for one of the classes. My heart hit my knees. My child was in 4th grad, about to be placed into 5th and had NEVER been taught how to properly write an essay. I then see where they were in every single subject and I absolutely knew right then, she was going to be in a ton of trouble. She went from in literally one day being a straight A student to the next completely clueless on absolutely everything around her. I called one of her teachers and she told me not to worry, she'd catch up. I was like, "Oh no, I know my child and as soon as she realizes what is going on she is going to feel like a total disappointment and I HAD to have an intervention IMMEDIATEL, so I called the principal and she immediately set my daughter up to be tested and we had a meeting with 6 different people in the school to help my little girl. I will never forget when they said, "She's testing at about a 2nd grade level in reading and 3rd grade in math". My body just vibrated and I broke down crying right there in the office. They immediately set her up with an intervention plan. Now she got in at the end of January. So she really was only there from March to June with spring break in between. Everyday they pulled her out of class and gave her one on one reading and math help. She did end up failing all of her classes but it was due to the fact that she had never been taught, they told me she clearly doesn't have any sort of learning disability. She just started 5th grade and she has been looking forward to becoming a safety patrol because at her previous school, she had already made it for her 5th grade year. They announced it about a week before I took her out. So I get to reading the newsletter and I see that she must've maintained at least a "C" average and showed good behavior in class. She was and always has been extremely well behaved. I just knew they weren't going to give it to her but I contacted the head of the safety patrol program, explained her situation to them, submitted that she did have straight A's but when she was transferred she no longer did. So, by the records that Franklin Academy had on her she definitely wasn't a child with a "C" average. After I explained myself, she simply told me to submit the required paperwork and I prepared myself of what I was going to tell my daughter when she was rejected for something that she had already earned. To my absolute shock, she made it! I am so proud of her and grateful to the school for not holding, something she had absolutely no control over, over her head. During the very first week of school, I wrote an email to the principal about getting my child the extra help she would need this year. I figured it would be a few days before I heard back from anyone, literally 20 minutes later she was on the phone with me explaining everything to me. I was highly impressed. I'm just warning you now, this school supports bullying,p*dos,and the staff does not care for the students. Im a junior now in high-school and i went here when this location first opened. I am one of the many students who was not only harrased but I was in a horrible state of depression. I never felt safe at this school and if you remember my name I hope you've grown up and became a better person. I hope what you people have done to me and many others never happens again. read more

Amazing school, amazing teachers and principal. Everything this school has done to keep parents & teachers in the loop and up to date makes for such great communication between us. I love all the resources we have as parents to easily access grades and monitor our children's school conduct & productivity. Most importantly, with all the recent obstacles during COVID-19, I have to say I have heard so many stories from other parents at different schools and I am so blessed that Franklin Academy has done everything in their power to keep everyone safe. This is not just a place where your child can thrive, this is like their second home my kids feel like they belong and feel so loved. To start this school is TERRIBLE. I went there for 5 years and developed MAJOR depression. There are multiple racist teachers including the admin staff members. They promote eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, etc. From fat shaming students to suspending them for not having their shirts tucked in. Multiple male teachers have asked for minor numbers, but telling the admin does nothing. They always said on the announces ( no bullying, make good choices ) but they are the main reason all of these kids are getting away with this stuff. You try to talk to them about your problems and they continue to make it your fault by just screaming in your face and then telling your parents the opposite story of what happened. One of the admins ( Mrs. Hanza ) even flirted with the students. You know you would think with a school trying to promote making good choices and being a better person they would do something about what's happening with the kids in their school but all they care about is themselves. I was walking with my friend and her male friend at the time and they were holding hands and one of the Spanish teachers called her a Wh*re to the other kids in my class, and also said that about multiple other girls just because she felt like it. Told my friend she was wearing makeup for validation from the boys, and Mrs. Verela would even lift of student's shirts to see if they were tucked in WITHOUT CONSENT. I got a hard-cover book thrown at my head and nothing happened to the kid that did it The kid broke a big on my friend's head, she was crying and then the teacher hugged the kid that kid it for lord knows why. s the admin, ( Parents, if you think I'm lying the only reason you don't get that side of the teachers, is that they are all manipulative , narcissistic , work alcoholics that only like bullying kids and putting on a front in front of all parents. It took around 4 years for my parents to believe me because it started getting OUT OF HAND during middle school, I would be at the door about to go into my class and the bell would ring as I would be standing right outside the door, and my teacher would slam it in the face, tell me to get a late pass, then I would come back and get "in trouble" and receive a detention? They have favorites, and their favorites are always the bullies of the school, when I went there a specific group of probably 5 boys bullied almost every girl in the school I reported it over 10 times, and every time they said they would "do something about it" it would continue to happen EVERYDAY IN FRONT OF THE TEACHERS, in their classes, outside of classes, in the bathrooms and none of them ever said anything but then everyone else gets screamed at and pulled into the office for having half of their shirt tucked in. Not to mention people would stand outside of the bathroom and watch all of the girls. Then as you would be washing your hands you would be getting yelled at to "hurry up and get to class" although one of my teachers didn't start teaching until the last two weeks of school. Even one of the teachers was staring into the boy's stall, and they gladly got fired but that's only because the whole school complained about it, they are like the government. If not enough people say something even if the situation is terrible they will do nothing about it at least until the assistant principal has had enough is is getting annoyed because of all the complaints. Not to mention in 7th grade single teacher quit even the subs because they would be crying on duty. They struggled so hard to find subs that we didn't do anything the whole year because they can't control their kids. AT ALL. And then as you would be washing your hands you would be getting yelled at to "hurry up and get to class" although one of my teachers didn't start teaching until the last two weeks of school. If you people want this school to keep running HAPPILY you need a whole new set of staff even the dean would complain to me about how they hate working there, it is terrible!!!!!!! I would cry every single morning just thinking about going because I knew it would be something big because they always turn the smallest things into huge problems even bringing cops into the situations because the teachers weren't trained enough to handle it themselves. Please get a new set of staff this felt like an alternative school and I don't want anyone else suffering there as we did. read more

The way they run the car line process makes you dislike the school completely! They have no consistency or considerations for parents or for those who have jobs. I will be enrolling my daughter into another school next semester. read more
