However, I use pub in the loosest sense of the word. There is a large bar, but no real ale, and, when we were there, they were even having problems with the Diet Coke dispenser. The staff are very young - this isn't a place, that by the looks of things, encourages much loyalty, either from its staff or its customers. The food is a buffet - I didn't eat it, but it didn't look to me especially appetising. I didn't notice that it was topped up very often (or, indeed at all) in the hour I was there. Now, I'm from the States originally, and have visited Baltimore on more than once occasion. I have no idea what exactly makes this establishment resemble Baltimore even a little. There is a very large car park, which is just as well, as there is nothing else there to draw visitors. Not recommended.

The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I've taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the "world's best fish and chips.". The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you're only slopping by for a pint.
