She redeemed herself by being friendly and polite throughout the night, and checked up on us frequently. My only complaint is that occasionally it takes a while from when you order to when you actually get your food, although I've never been to a different pizza hut before so I'm not sure whether this is the case all around. Either way it can be tiring when you're sat waiting for a while. As it is a family restaurant it can be quite loud at times but I've never considered this a problem as I've always been there in a big group of friends, however if you're looking for a quiet meal then it might not be ideal. I'm deffo eating there again, and the take away option is brilliant too.

The lunch menu is excellent value for money but sometimes the quality isn't there. They do a kids menu, which costs almost the same as the adult lunch menu, but the portions are measly. They recently changed the pizza so it's now just like a lump of cardboard with sauce on it - a bit like a Tesco Value pizza but much more expensive! The early bird menu has a lot more variety than the lunchtime one and includes their best dish - fajitas. It's about £10 and starts at 4pm (I think - it may have changed to 5pm). It's really handy as it's located in the Xscape complex and just across the road from the shopping outlet. There's plenty of free parking and it generally isn't too busy.

So I called the shop to ask what was going on and got the typical "delivery driver is just setting off now" reply. About 15 minutes later, I notice the delivery car coming down the street. I go to the door ready to pay, only to find the delivery girl is trying to deliver my pizza to my neighbours two doors down from me. After finally getting my order, the pizza itself was well below the quality I used to expect from Karvanis, and as you can imagine with the delivery time, luke warm at best. Overall a very disappointing experience. Hopefully this is just a one off and not a sign of slipping standards. That being said, it will be some time before I decide to order from Karvanis again.

Delivery was prompt and the pizza was sufficiently warm so no problems there. There was a small mistake with the order but again, nothing really major and just slightly inconvenient. The real problem was with the actual standard of the pizza. There was plenty of it as it was a BOGOF (which made it only marginally more expensive than the local independent) but the base was a bit cardboardish and the topping was sparse and quite bland. I can normally polish of a 12 incher on my own (stop sniggering) but I found that I could only manage a couple of slices of this one before I needed liquids to stop my mouth feeling as if it was chewing on the box instead of the pizza. Now and again it's good to try something different if only to confirm that you've been making the right choice all along. When it comes to pizza the independents definitely rule the waves.
