I gave him a deposit at the beginning to pay for the more expensive paint in which later I found out that he did not buy the more expensive paint he bought the contractor's grade paint. Then as I was trying to go over what was needing to be done what I noticed that still hadn't been done he kept on telling me don't worry about it that it'll get taken care of. So the day before we're supposed to move in his guys still needed to clean up and there was still some issues and Abiel asked me for the final payment and when I said the work's not completed he said don't worry my guys will be here tomorrow. His guys never showed and after moving into the house that was only 85% done by his company multiple text messages and voicemails I was ghosted by him. He comes off as a good guy but he's a scammer. His guys didn't finish the job and they left a huge mess for us to clean up. And now I had to pay for someone to fix what he didn't fix. Shame on him. He should be in jail for scamming people.

Feb. 22, 2020, he went, gave me a great estimate, said the job would be done in 3-4 days, asked that I send him $300 as a deposit so he could get the materials (insulation, sheetrock, tape, and joint compound) and get started right away. He fixed 2 small patches the same day and part of a wall in the living room. Two days later (Feb 24, 2020) he was supposed to go back, but didn't, he said the sheetrock got wet with the rain and would be there the next day. On the 3rd day (Feb 25, 2020) when he said he would go, he never showed up or called to say he wasn't going. The same thing happened the next day (Feb 26, 2020), however, that evening he sent a text saying he would be at the house from 7-10 am on Sat., Feb 27, 2020, and wanted to make sure someone was available to let him in. Arrangements were made and once again he failed to show up. I called and texted him several times that day and got no response. I reached out to the person that referred him to me and was told that his phone had ended up in a pool and he was working on getting a new phone and would call me later. Five hours later I still had not heard from him. I sent him an email hoping tp have some communication from him and still nothing. I didn't reach out to him on Sun., Feb 28, 2020 so as to respect his time with family and reached out again on Mon, March 1, 2020...I got no response! My experience with Southern Painting Houston Southwest was awful from start to finish. We were…read moregiven an original quote of $755 that had to be "corrected" to $2555. They implied we didn't communicate our expectations clearly enough, which we did. Once we were able to settle the pricing dispute their workers came to paint a statement wall in my stairwell. Their work consisted of uneven edgework, paint dripped on wooden floors, adjacent walls covered in paint, window frames covered in paint, and streaking which left the paint underneath exposed in multiple areas. The damage consisted of two custom blinds covered in paint, wooden stairwell & wall damage from some type of impact, and a broken light fixture. When we attempted to find resolution, communication was lacking and inconsistent, and the only "discount" offered was simply the cost of the blinds & light fixture. They considered the final work worth the amount quoted. What was supposed to be a fun home improvement project turned into a nightmare and a huge cost for better professionals to correct the work and repair the damage. I regret using Southern Painting Houston Southwest and will not recommend them to anyone.
