It comes on a fresh roll, steak was excellent, tender, juicy, thick cut. Not the paper thin crap you used to buy one box, the real deal. It came with peppers and onions, and I ordered extra cheese, great hoagie!!! A side of delicious fried onion rings, beer battered of course, the much better option. Family had the Fried Bologna sandwich, which comes toasted, with American cheese and Jalapenos, and a House made sauce, it was delicious!! Come on, it's Frizzled Bologna!! A side of ruffled chips, it was very much enjoyed. Great bar food, worth the visit!!

My most recent sandwich was the Roast beef and Vermont cheddar sub with tomatoes and lettuce, oil and vinegar. This was a 5/5! The roast beef was extremely good, tender and flavored well. The portion of meat and cheddar was perfect! The hoagie bun held up well. Would be a nice spot for lunch when the weather is good as it has outside seating.

It may surprise some to know how many times I've hung out in Pittsburgh in the last 16 years or so,…read morebecause I've never been to a Primanti Bros. before. But then again, I am vegetarian, so I didn't think they offered anything for me. I've looked at the menu online more than once, and didn't see any sandwiches designated vegetarian each time. But I was meeting a friend before a concert on the RMU campus, and this was conveniently located 1 mile away, and it had food and beer. I kept an open mind and figured, I'll just modify one of their sandwiches. When I arrived, I learned they also have a pizza option. But I still thought... when in Rome... There was a black bean option listed on their wall menu, but the waitress double-checked for me and we learned together that they use to offer that option, but no longer do. Damn. There was however a cheese (no meat) option on the menu, which I was surprised wasn't on the online menu. But I'll take it! Their sandwiches are interesting in that instead of sides of french fries and cole slaw, the sides are just stacked into the sandwich to make it a quick easy convenient meal! The draft beer selection was good, the sandwich was decent enough, and the service was great (weekday evening). In the end, I am not sure I'd run back for my one sandwich menu option, maybe I'd try their pizza, or go for some sides, or just stop in for a beer on my way to my next show. I enjoyed the vibe and most everthing about the place, but the sandwich was just okay.

As for the Italian, it seemed a bit skimpy on the meat serving. And there were caramelized onions on half of the sandwhich that we didn't order? So that was odd but it tasted good! I especially liked the oregano and the oil/dressing! The chipotle chicken was a cheesesteak style sandwich with chicken, could've used some more flavor and was a bit dry. Not a bad experience but not one I'd go out of the way for based off this experience alone. The employees seemed nice but a bit frazzled- there was only handful of people in the store if that, but seemed as though they had some larger and multiple online orders.
