When I signed my lease mid-October, I questioned why my rent was $1,000 and not $900 as shown on the website. I was told it was because I was on the second (top) floor. I later found out other renters on the top floor were paying $900. I raised the question to management in April and was told it was because the rent went up shortly before I signed my lease then went back down, however they were unable to provide a timeframe for when the rates increased or decreased. Owners will not do an addendum - they said I have to wait until my lease is up to have it lowered. Also, the girl who told me the story about the top floor being at a higher rate no longer works there and the current people who work there said they don't know why I was told that as the reason for rent being higher. The apartment interior is very outdated, minimal was done to make it move-in ready. Subflooring and carpet should have been replaced - several areas of subflooring are uneven and dip when walking across the rooms and the carpet is very worn and stretched out/wavy. Fixes were done on the cheap, for example the hole where the deadbolt should have been on the outside storage closet was "fixed" by installing a silver doorknob above the gold one that is the actual doorknob. The main areas such as the breezeways, stairs, outside lighting are dirty and not maintained. When I moved into the apartment, I was told they were going to be pressure washing these areas, but this hasn't happened. read more

!!!!The worst place I've ever lived. If you're looking for a place that will rip you off with utilities and not send you the statements from KU, this is the place for you. Every month they will up the price of your utilities so they'll have extra money in their pockets. Month 1-3 was great, however, month 4-12 we ended up paying up to an additional $80 on top of rent for electric and water. We're never home and everything's always turned off. We asked for the KU bills and they sent us another transaction paper that shows when you pay rent instead of the KU bill. It's 3 months later, we've asked for it every month now and we still haven't received it. !!!!You don't smoke pot but, your neighbors do? Don't worry! They'll give everyone in the apartment complex an eviction warning (because they're too lazy to figure out who is actually doing it, so why not evict everyone) this has happened 4 times over the last year. !!!!Ever look forward to coming home to your window downstairs completely pushed in? This is the right place for you. They won't even fix it for you when you call, the cop that comes to your house for a police report will end up fixing this for you! !!!!!wanna feel like you're living in the ghetto? ONCE AGAIN this place is perfect for you! Meth heads on every corner, including a bunch of homeless people behind your apartment complex (443 Jason dr) police run them off every week. !!!!!wanna feel like you're still living in the 70s? Everything about this apartment is from that time period. The toilets sound like they're going to explode, the carpet hasn't been changed in about 6 years, the paint is a yellow/white, they won't even clean the apartment good before you move in (we found dishes, pot holders, bathroom products, still in the apartment when we moved in. !!!!!Dont wanna decorate your house? GREAT!!! they'll charge you $5/ per nail hole, they'll take away your deposit if they find any scuffs on the walls (which they don't paint every time someone moves out, like you're supposed to). !!!!!have an emotional support/service dog? Well that's too dang bad. No matter how many times you show them your paperwork, they'll still leave an eviction warning on your door every month. !!!!!! Are you okay with random people coming in your house unannounced? This place is perfect for you. The maintenance guy came in ours several times without warning. I have this on camera. Really nice and clean apartments but make sure and keep up with your receipts if you rent here. I always paid my rent on time and every single month they would call me asking me where my rent was, threaten an eviction, and would leave notices on my door. Very unorganized!!! read more

Foxglove Apartments have to be the worst rental company in Richmond. The complexes they run are not maintained, trash litters the grounds and no-one ever cleans it up. The dumpster areas are disgusting and the management never attempts to clean it up. The homeless are frequently found at the dumpsters and sometimes even INSIDE the dumpsters rummaging through the trash. UNSAFE! They say no pets, but I'd estimate that 25% of the renters violate the policy and allow their dogs to roam the complex. UNSAFE ! They are dishonest in the deposit policy. It took them over 60 days to return the deposit, only to find a "list" of deductions that were excessive and unsubstantiated. Normal wear and tear does not exist in their evaluation of deposit deductions. We left our apartment in better condition than when we moved in, took pictures of everything to show condition and cleanliness and they still forced deductions. When I sent them the pictures to challenge their deductions, they basically gave me the middle finger and said too bad. The people are rude and have no regard for customer service or even common courtesy. They take advantage of the deposit policy because they can, they know no one is going challenge them in court and they know that 90% of their renters are EKU Students who they can just screw over.
