C the Difference - Lady rose earl grey tea blend

This shop has lots of cute knick knacks that aren't really my style but I found myself checking out…read morethe sample table in the back where they also have a cafe and then the owner found me and started a rapid-paced discussion about tea and tea blends. She had me try an iced green lemongrass tea that was slightly sweetened and I honestly wasn't too keen since I'm kind of a tea snob and the thought of a sweetened iced green tea screams "Panera" to me. To my surprise it was pretty good--not overly sweet and a lot of true tea integrity! We had a good long talk about how she blends her teas and, as my boyfriend was anxiously circling like a vulture waiting to leave the store, I realized that she possessed a pretty in-depth knowledge and passion for herbs and teas. I later found out she's an herbalist which makes so much sense! I picked up a package of rose earl grey--which is a hard blend to find anywhere and I just brewed it at my home and found it really delightful. I also appreciate that she uses a lot of organic tea leaves which says a lot in itself. Like the earlier reviewer mentioned, I wish she should bigger batches. I'm sorry I didn't think to take photos of the store but I wasn't thinking of leaving a review until I came home and made this satisfying cuppa! A must for tea lovers! Who would've thought!?

I stumbled into C the Difference after my curiosity got the better of me. I'd seen the sign…read morehanging in front of the well-tended home off Grand Street for ages, but never knew what it was. Then I met Cindy, the proprietress. The shop really is all Cindy. As a trained herbologist I don't think there's a plant out there she hasn't met or can't tell you how to use. Her show room is full of pretty home goods and decorator items that make excellent gifts, but the real deal is her handmade creams and blended teas. The Good: Everything smells so wonderful. And if you sit around long enough, she'll feed you non-stop. Cindy is a 'here, try this' kind of woman. While sampling teas, she kept handing me more and more cups to try. It was an embarrassment of riches that kept me heartily entertained in the true Southern Hospitality tradition. When I mentioned I was interested in a particular herb, she promised to add it to her garden that season. Also, meeting her parents was lovely. Who goes into a shop and meets the whole family? That's such a fabulous Southern thing. The Bad: Parking is kinda odd. And if you don't know the shop is there, you'll keep driving by it. It literally looks like a house on the street. It would be helpful if she had a website, too. I would have liked to have been able to buy larger quantities of the tea blends I bought, but she was out. Everything is made in small batches. I picked up several teas which I loved.
