I am so happy we found this sandwich shop on our last day in Saumur. For our first few days in Saumur we went to lot of sit down breakfast places where we would wind up waiting for around an hour to finish breakfast. As a New Yorker I started to crave the quick grab and go bagel for breakfast so we could spend less time eating and more time exploring the French countryside. On our last day we definitely wanted a quick bite to go since we were checking out of our AirBnB early in the morning and traveling to Le Mans. We found Fournil Saint Nicholas right in the heart of downtown Samumur, they have a variety of breakfast combinations for a cheap price- croissant + coffee for ~3 Euros. Taking a look a the sandwiches I was immediately drawn to the prosciutto/ mozzarella combo so no breakfast combo for me. A sandwich and a latte only set me back around 8 Euros or so which was perfect. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you're looking for a quick grab and go breakfast or lunch. The hostess didn't speak much English but thankfully we were able to order with my combination of 1st grade french and a lot of pointing. read more
