The artists are real craftspeople at work, and it's like watching chefs in the kitchen with how they flow. It was my birthday yesterday yay. I called to see if I could do a walk in for two tattoos ( 2 stars) and was told it was first come first serve. I arrive and the artist takes 30 minutes to draw up the most simple design ever and takes 20 more minutes to set up. This was my first tattoo and i didn't even get to finish it because I was getting rushed by the artist he kept saying he had clients later so I left paying more than wat i thought I would be because I was never told about the sales tax. Unhappy with the work for the money spent. Jennifer did the tattoo, the line work is crooked and uneven. She had a hard time with coming up with a concept for the tattoo. She walked away from tattooing me to help a walk in which took her 30 min. The tattoo is faded shortly after being done in November. Yes I could have called back to have it fixed but honestly after the job she did, I didn't trust her to ruin it more. The line work is a good indication that going back to have her fix it would be a huge mistake. Four star gave me a one star quality tattoo and now I have to pay over 600 to have it read more

I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate my trip to NM (it's a long and personal story) so I decided to check out the sites on Yelp. After some research I chose Four Star, and am very glad I did. I contacted Mark, the owner, and arranged an appointment and sent him a deposit and a JPG of my proposed art. When I got to the shop he drew up and improved the design and got my approval for everything before he went to work. The end result is better than I imagined and I couldn't be happier. The shop is clean, spacious and bright, and the staff was friendly. Mark was especially helpful and prompt. All in all, it was the best tattoo experience I've had. This was probably the best tattoo experience I've ever had. My friend and I walked in an hour before close, hopeful that they could fit me in. I wanted two small tattoos done on my hands, but you never know if there's time/artists available. They were able to get me in, to my relieved joy, and they quoted an outstanding price! As I sat and waited for my artist to be ready, I chatted with the other artist and assistant about life, tattoos, etc. They were very friendly, very talented people. When it was my turn up, my artist, Scott, took lots of time to draw, and place, my desired tattoo exactly perfect. It took very little time to do, but he was 100% dedicated. Got really, really put off by the overall rudeness of the man working there. Came in with two others asking about a Zia symbol for each and was told that it is way harder than people think to do. Apparently, Talisman didn't seem to think so and were very informative about prices and such while the man at Four Star basically told us to go somewhere else, because he wasn't going to do it. Not exactly sure why they have the repuation as a professional shop when they have rude, unhelpful and disrespectful people working there. Will not be recommending Four Star to anyone. read more

I waited until in my Forties to get something and have been SCARRED! I had a very large piece I had designed and asked if they where able to do it with fine lines, The guy said yes, he is an artist as I am. It took many trips because while paying by the hour he got up to answer the phone and answer questions to people walking in. After the last session we should have done the clean up session, I asked about all the skin showing through, I was told in front of the owner Mr. Vigil that in a year the ink would spread to fill in. I new this wasn't true but left any way. Then I noticed that I was scarred from the out lining, the out line was raised all over and there where dark spots . I had felt so deflated about it for so long but when I finally went in to talk to someone about fixing it, I was so happy and relieved. Mark Vigil is without a doubt a amazing tattoo artist. Seeing the work in his portfolio doesn't compared to the work he actually does, me and my boyfriend have been tattooed by Mark and couldn't be more amazed with the quality of the work Mark does. The lines are perfect and he does beautiful work, but even more he made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands.
