I owe a debt of gratitude to MAWA for the enormous leaps my kids have taken developmentally during…read moretheir time there. My eldest daughter started at MAWA when she turned three. By the time she left for kindergarten a couple of years later, she had learned songs and vocabulary in Mandarin and Spanish, was adding, subtracting, and counting into the thousands, doing CVCs, knew all the continents and planets in the solar system, learned all about the biology of humans, animals, insects, and plants, and was making all sorts of cool art projects based on famous artists in history. My other daughter is currently going to MAWA. She started when she turned two with a speech delay and in six months her confidence and speech development has been through the charts. Now, she's able to express her needs more clearly, put phrases and multiple word sentences together, imitate speech patterns, and respond to questions. It's also a game changer that MAWA coordinates with the regional center so their speech and occupational therapists can do sessions at the school to work with your child and cater to their specific developmental needs. What I appreciate most is that it never felt like the kids were just going to school, but were in an environment where they could truly thrive. One of the most rewarding things as a parent is seeing the joy and excitement on your child's face as they explain the lifecycle of a butterfly as they look at a chrysalis on a leaf, or show you the watermelon they grew from a seed in the school garden, or tell you all their favorite fruits and vegetables in Mandarin, or show you how they're able to make raisins dance through buoyancy and gas absorption. For that, I'm forever grateful to Julisa, Carla, Mireya, Esmeralda, Lupe, Gina, Sophie, Jill, Vanessa, Ruhi and all the rest of the MAWA teachers and staff. Thank you for shaping the world of my kids and many others through play.

The teachers are kind, caring, and patient, the admins are helpful, and the student & parent community was amazing. The kids get such a well rounded experience there - two language classes, reading & writing, special on-site "field trips" (aquarium, petting zoo, etc.), science fair, 2 performances each year, spirit week, cultural events, and not to mention the very strong academic (and practical skills from Montessori methods) foundation they receive. It was amazing to see the progress he made there in 3 years. Like many private preschools it's pricey but in my opinion it was worth every penny.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you end up using Michelle, it will ruin all other agencies for you…read more I am a professional career nanny. I have over seven years of nannying experience, five years of teaching experience, and more. I have a B/S in childhood development as well as my MAT. When I began my search for a nanny-family in LA, I did my due diligence by shopping around looking at multiple agencies. I found that Michelle had the TOP RATED AGENCY ON MULTIPLE SITES and wanted to take a closer look. I read through every. single. review. I thought to myself, "Really? Every single person had a positive experience with this agency? That's just not statistically possible if she's really working with this many people..." I decided to set up a meeting. I drove to her office where we met to discuss particulars (what I'm looking for, what families are in the market for a nanny right now, what ages/salary/commute/hours I'm looking for) and the moment she opened the door and greeted me with a giant smile and her upbeat, positive attitude, I felt like just working with HER was my perfect placement! Once we started the process, Michelle was completely professional while also refreshingly honest and realistic in her suggestions. She really took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for and she only suggested me to families that she knew had the potential to be a "love match!" After looking at a few potential matches, Michelle called me to tell me that she had "found my family!" She said, "This is the one. Please go for an interview and see for yourself." So I did. This is the part of the review where I'm going to get annoyingly emotional. Not only did the family and I immediately "click," but Michelle had made sure that all of our stats were in alignment. The age range, schedule, amount of hours, commuting time, pay rate, expectations and needs happened to all align with what I was looking for. It was LITERALLY the PERFECT PLACEMENT!!!! Coincidence? I think not. Michelle is highly intelligent, professional, personable, understanding, diligent, experienced, communicative, and pleasantly charismatic and I owe my job satisfaction directly to her. Now that I think about it, maybe I should send over a bottle of wine. Thank you, Michelle, for just being so incredibly good at what you do. As I mentioned earlier, when I started this process, I read through every one of your (5 star) reviews and thought, "There's just no way every single review can be five stars..." and now here I am adding one more.

It seemed like I had landed a few dream jobs only for it to slip away from me. Really trying times. Then I met Michelle! This brings a smile to my face. Meeting with her felt like chatting with a friend. I realized after that this is her skill. She loves people and wants to represent both the families and the nannies. It was a slow period and she didn't have any job opportunities at the time when I signed up with her agency, the perfect placement. After being on the hunt for my top nanny job with a kind family for many months and it wasn't happening I was getting ready to move out of state. I mentioned to Michelle that I'm no longer looking for a position as it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Michelle didn't give up on me. She called me with 2 opportunities. I went on both interviews and was called back to do a trial for the one that I wanted !! Yay !! Then Michelle negotiated some time off that I needed to take care of a health issue. The family was so wonderful they waited for me ! All I can say everything lined up perfectly. Michelle will always return your call in a timely manner and she always checks in to see how you're doing. I thank God I met Michelle !

We love Blooming Child Family Day Care and highly recommend it!…read more Our son started at Blooming Child when he was 18 months old. We were nervous at first but Zepyur immediately put us at ease with her warmth and openness. He is showered with love everyday by Zepyur, Marine, Mariam, and Andy, and he naps really well at his daycare so when we pick him up he's always in a happy mood. He used to be shy but since he started at Blooming Child we noticed he's a lot more comfortable around people. His social skills definitely improved from playing with the other kids. Zepyur and Marine sing and read to the kids a lot so our son's vocabulary improved and he has started learning the numbers and the alphabet. The daycare is at Zepyur and Andy's home so it's clean and safe and they take really good care of their facilities. If you're considering sending your baby to daycare, we highly recommend Blooming Child. Zepyur and Marine are like loving aunties and your baby will be in good hands!

I just moved to NYC, and I'd say the single largest heartbreak about leaving Los Angeles, my home…read morefor almost a decade wasn't leaving behind my home, my work, or anything like that. It was taking my kid away from the best daycare in the entire Los Angeles area, Happyland daycare. I'd argue to say it's the best daycare in America, but I don't want to be seen as "over the top". (that's just my personality lol.) Anyhow, all jokes aside, as a first time mother with no family on my or my husband's side in the US at all, they were my village. Not only are they extremely fairly priced, but they took the best care of my baby. She was so happy to go to daycare every single day she always giggled and clapped her hands as we pulled up to Monika's door. The second that door opens, my daughter leaps into her or Olga's arms. You can't buy this feeling of safety and security. I know this and I didn't even have such high expectations going in. I was just a tired mom, desperate for help and a spare pair of hands to help me so I could get my life back. But Monika and Olga exceeded my expectations. I had no idea that they'd make this heavy of a mark in my heart because no nanny, daycare center or service I've had since has come close to their level of care. Their amazing meals (literally the best most organic foods available in the market), the art projects they did, the friends she made, it was so smooth and low drama and honestly not replaceable at all. Nothing comes close to Happyland. I wish I could move back to LA just to be near them, but alas I understand that isn't possible because of my husband's work. So I'll just have to leave this note, as a testament from one mother, to another; if you're reading this, your baby is safe and loved with them. Please consider Happyland over anywhere else, as I know what it's like to need this peace of mind. If you're reading this Monika/olga, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We finally moved and settled in so I finally had the chance to write this, better late than never. Sending all my love, we miss you everyday and Lali still knows your names and asks about you ladies. The scrap book of her photos you made her makes us all smile and cry every single time. Best Bianca
