Just moved to FL from the Pacific Northwest and have been seeking a local coffee bar. This shop is near my place so gave it a try. The coffee was good and one of the best I've had since I arrived BUT those prices are bending people over. Oof, $6 and the coffee was SMALL. Espresso was very sour (excessive polyphenols extracted). So either they over extracted or the grind was too coarse. Kinda odd since I ordered ristretto, which tends toward bitter (how I like it). Perhaps the group was too cold and they didn't bring it up to temp first. On the plus side it's very cute and the proximity to the road is not a problem. If they can churn out consistent espresso it'd be great. As is, I cannot recommend their espresso. I would certainly return here if they can actually develop a good product. read more

Coffee was a little pricey but the fresh taste is worth it. The cold brew has better flavor than Starbucks. The croissant sandwich also tasted extremely fresh. Place would be a 10/10 if it wasn't 96° outside. read more

Love this place!!! Been here a couple of times in the morning. Love the relaxed atmosphere and the baristas know how to make a great Americano. Place is super cool right across from St Stephens on Boyette. Extremely zen. Great place to just relax drink a cup o joe and watch traffic go by. So disappointed in the service today and i am a new regular. I originally sat in line for eight minutes behind a car in the drive-through and then decided to park because no one was in line at the window. I parked my car and ordered an iced latte. They casually talked and showed no urgency in completing my order and others on time. It took 16 minutes to get my drink and one of the staff members came back from break, entered the kitchen, didn't wash her hands and removed a cherry danish from a package with her fingers. I told them how disappointed I was that it took 16 minutes and I had been in both drive-through and walk up. I also mentioned that I was a small business owner and hated to even bring it up but it was so disappointing to see the lack of customer service The only explanation was, "I'm sorry, I was just on break". Again, very disappointed as is there are very few non-franchise coffee shops in our area. read more

This location is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating, however drinking a hot beverage under the hot Florida sun may not be appealing to everyone. (They offer iced versions of their beverages, however I know many people simply gravitate towards hot beverages.) The inability to sit in air conditioning may be a deterrent to some, but it certainly makes for a more unique space. I have only tried their latte, which is good but not noteworthy to me. Many of the reviews have spoken to how strong Foundation's coffee is; I personally find it to be on the weaker side. As of the beginning of March this location is "cash-less," so be aware you'll need to have either a credit card or Apple Pay. read more

I found Foundation Coffee Co and was pleasantly surprised that this hipster oasis is just a few minutes away from me. I love this minimal, modern coffee stand. Simple menu but offered alternative macadamia nut milk. Our drinks were delicious. The barista was sweet and the ambience was relaxing. There wasn't very many customers. I hope more people come here and support such a cute local small business. read more

We were traveling from Bradenton, FL, back home to Atlanta, GA, and stopped in for some cold brew and a cortado. They were delicious- smooth and flavorful. The guy working was very friendly as well. This coffee is not your average Joe. In fact they pride themselves in specialty coffees such as nitro brewed and have a coffee of the day. Very neat little coffee stop under the oak trees. It's a cozy sort of out door coffee stop. I found it to be a bit stronger then my usual go to but I think that's probably because I was feeling the spirit of adventure when the batista explained the menu. I really enjoyed sitting in their beautiful courtyard despite the crazy traffic just steps away. A nice change for the norm in this area. read more

I may have given 5 stars but I was looking for an actual coffee roaster. This particular location was listed as a roaster but is actually a trailer with a nice patio. I was in the mood for a local sit-down location that roasted the beans on-site in order to get the full enjoyment of the coffee as well as the aroma and ambience. Now, the place is still very nice and the patio is very inviting and casual but it is sitting off of a relatively busy road... and it's not a roaster. The guy said they will be roasting coffee at this location soon. They also sell other people's coffee, so I couldn't actually buy something that Foundation roasts. In the end, the coffee was very good but I also wanted to enjoy and purchase some local goodness to take home. read more

Discovered this quaint little coffee shop business morning when I was in Fish Hawk for a race. They had a trailer setup serving hot coffee before the turkey trot. We sampled the Brew and immediately my interest was piqued. We were able to speak briefly to the baristas and learned they were located close by. About a week later, I visited their shop and it's been all I can talk about since. Being in riverview, we are filled with commercial restaurants and coffee chains. It's been so nice to have a little stop along my route to change up from the mundane suburban chains. The coffee is always fresh, the staff is friendly, and the exterior is super cute and inviting. With my diary limitations, I'm afraid I cannot review an extensive selections of beverages, however, my friends all rave about the beverages they have tried. I look forward to many friendly stops at this fine neighborhood shop in the future. And look forward to testing out more beverages once I'm cleared to do so. read more

We passed this place on our way to FishHawk. I wasn't expecting to find decent coffee outside of the city because you don't usually find decent coffee outside of cities or art/college towns. If you're here looking for syrupy starbucks-type drinks, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a cup of great, high quality coffee, this trailer by the road will give you exactly what you're looking for. We stopped out of curiosity on our way to my grandparents' home on AnnaMaria Island. It was kind of a cold morning and they were BUSY. The bar was full and there was a line in the drive through. Only one barista was working and he was the prime example of efficiency. It takes time to make proper coffee and espresso drinks. Their menu is simple--drip, cold brew, aeropress, chemex, latte, cappuccino, americano, etc. They have a couple of syrups on hand and vanilla ice cream for affogatto. Beardyman ordered a caramel latte and I got an americano. Both were excellent. The latte was effortlessly gorgeous. I was so pleased that I went back the next day and we split a chemex. The owner was running the bar that day. Despite his good-humored, self-deprecating comments about the quality of his latte art, his drinks were just as efficient and quality as the first day we went. We enjoyed our conversation with him and his wife and thoroughly enjoyed our chemex. Thank you so much. This place was such a treasure to find. read more
