General Tsos chicken lunch special
Marie Mauritz K.

Neighbor recommended lunch special. Quickly seated in an immaculate and tastefully decorated dining room. Soothing music enhanced atmosphere. Had general tso's chicken lunch special. Served with egg drop soup. Meal included pork fried rice, egg roll, crispy wonton and deep fried chicken bite! Lots of yummy food. Main dish was sauced well and green peppers were still crispy. I dislike mushy vegetables. Healthy pour of white Zinfandel went well with the food. Service was attentive but not at all intrusive. Drive up window was very busy during our time there. A couple of fortune cookies ended the meal.

I ordered online I was very disappointed. My husband picked up the food and and when he came home, only 15 min. away, the food was cold and undercooked. We had to micro it, and the crispy Hone sue chicken got mushy. The fried rice was also cold. Then I noticed an extra charge was written and added on the bill for white rice, which, according to the menu, is to be included with Hong sue chicken. I called and asked why I was overcharged $1.50. They hung up on me 4 times. This was terrible food and service.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and it's by far one of my favorites. The food is fresh. The staff is friendly and the food taste amazing.

Szechuan green beans. Spicy salt and pepper pork. Steamed bbq buns. So good. Be sure to check out the authentic Chinese menu and not just the Americanized dishes--you won't be disappointed!

Had a friend visiting from out of town so we had a big group. This is the perfect place for that! More ppl means more foods to try! Ordered a lot of our favorites and a few select dishes people wanted to try. Everyone had happy bellies! Definitely recommend and order off the Chinese menu.

Very friendly with the start of us walking in the door. Food was hot and fresh and not long on the wait. The shumai will always be my favorite to eat and of course it was delicious. Would come back again

Hot and Sour Soup

First time visit, food was very fresh and came out quick. The lunch special included a cup of soup, either egg drop or hot and sour. A small crab rangoon, egg roll and little fried chicken chunk. Pork fried rice and your entree choice. I ordered the Broccoli Chicken. All in all the food had good flavor, the quality of vegetables was great. The service felt rushed, the server forgot to bring me my drink, and didn't realize it until I finished my meal. He did bring me a water as soon as I was seated so it worked out. He didn't stop at all to see if I needed anything throughout my meal which I thought was odd. Once he realized he forgot my drink he still gave me a can of soda on the house to take with me. This would have been 5 star across the board if not for the little service hiccup. Definitely recommend and will return.

Duck and Mushroom Soup

My family and I have been going to Fortune for the last 20+ years. It is a family owned restaurant that have been expanding. They have a second location but this location (across from Krispy Kreme and Chuck E Cheese) is the best one. In terms of service, I would give this place a solid 3/5. The only reason I say that is because when they are busy or if you have a really large party, the service is extremely slow. To avoid getting slow service, go on a weekday around 4:30pm or an earlier dinner/ lunch on a weekend. The unique thing about this restaurant is that they have three different types of menu. One menu is more individualized entrees while the other menu is for family style. The third is a newer dim sum menu. Since most asian families tend to eat family style and share multiple large dishes, they have both to cater to everyone's dining style. My family usually gets a few large dishes to share. The food here is a 10/10. It is seasoned very well and their fried foods are not too oily. The dishes that my family usually get are: 1) Chicken Corn Soup - Diced chicken mixed in with corn and eggs; reminds me of an egg drop soup with chicken in it. Ask for the wonton chips to add into the soup! 2) Duck and Mushroom Soup - Diced duck, clear noodles with enoki mushroom. It is perfect for cold weather. 3) Shrimp, Squid and Fish Combination - All of it is fried and it's so good with rice and soy sauce. If you don't like the smelt fish, you can ask for the fish filet and they'll sub it without any additional cost. 4) Pea Pod Leaf - this is seasoned with fresh garlic and it is just so good. 5) Eggplant and Salted Fish Casserole - Okay, HEAR ME OUT!!! This dish is extremely good. However, it does have an acquired taste. If you don't mind a fishy taste, then it is the dish for you. If you're an adventurous eater, then try it. You may actually be obsessed with it. 6) Beef Tenderloin - The beef tenderloin is sooo delicious. It is flavorful and saucy.

Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. After ordering appetizers and entrees, the food came out in a timely fashion. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Thanks, Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 :) Atmosphere: Besides the separate bar area, the dining room is a big open space with lots of four-top tables spread around. Around the walls there are posters, art pieces, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. I wasn't sure at the time, but there was something a bit cramped about the interior. After looking at the pictures, I think it might have to do with the low, tiled ceiling. (I think this is the first time I have ever mentioned something about a tiled ceiling.) On this night, it was quiet and easy to have a comfortable conversation. Glad that we finally stopped in for a meal. With the exception of the initial service delay and some small issues with a couple of food items, it was a very good meal. Would definitely want to stop back again to try other parts of the menu.

Okay, I'm going to dish in a second. But overall - Maxie's…read moreis a super cool vibe. The colors, the well-placed low lighting, the appropriate volume of cajun music ... all done in excellent taste. The waitstaff is INCREDIBLE. They all seem to be having a great time, when it's slow, and when it's busy, which is important to see; plus, they help each other out. Waiters, bartenders, bussers, hosts, food-runners - they're often smiling and helpful to anyone. Not only did our waiter Scotty take amazing care of us (a group of 10 on a Saturday night, all arriving at different times; and he had many other tables besides us), but his teammates helped bring drinks, clear the table, and our deliver our food. Everything was timely, fresh, and as far as I know, no errors were made with drinks or food. We were all quite satisfied with our meal. The reason I give 3 stars is, for some reason I do not understand, near the end of our meal, we heard a man yelling quite loudly from the kitchen area AT OUR SERVER. The man (manager I assume) was insisting that Scotty was not attentive to us (and I can't discern a single reason why this would be claimed). Even if he noticed something we didn't -- it could have been a moment of quiet criticism, but this dude turned it into a screaming fit. And he could not have been more wrong. In fact overhearing this exchange (right around the corner, within full earshot of us and the back half of the restaurant) was the ONLY thing that soured our otherwise amazing experience. We then watched who I assume was the same guy (red-faced and angry) sit down at a table very close to us, and our server return a moment later somewhat shaken up. It was awful. We made sure to congratulate him loudly on his impeccable service after that. I don't know if the manager heard or not. But one can hope. This was not my first time here, but it was the first time I've experienced anything like this. Like I said, the team seems solid, our service is always timely and kind (and often, incredibly FUN) even when they're PACKED, the food is bangin', the oysters are fresh and delicious, and EVERYTHING is well priced & spiced! So we will be back. But we really hated seeing our waiter treated like that. For anyone who doesn't know - waiters in WI currently make $2.33/hour. This is below the federal wage rate of $7.25/hour for the same job. They survive off your tips. If they're good, they're great, and GOD BLESS THEM - they must do what they do because they love people. This manager did not seem to appreciate what he had right in front of him. But we did!!!! GO SCOTTY GOOOOO

Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with our menu choices, which were limited due to their Madi Gras-only offerings, but also plentiful and varied. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.

Stopped in for takeout. Ambience was cools and laid back at night, there was some soft jazz playing. Order 2 jerk salmon burgers and some wings with the "crab it your way" sauce. Flavor was on point for both. Wings were delicious and super crispy, just like I ordered. The burgers, although they were good, they were small for $18. Fries were decent, but a bit on the greasy side. Took 2 stars off because we waited 45 minutes for our food, when we were told 20 minutes, the burgers were small for the price and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity even for carry out ( I don't mind dine in). Also the girl at the front didn't seem too knowledgeable about the menu. Although I'm not a big fan of The Q, I would definitely go back for Crab It Your Way. St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!
