Decent enough chip shop in the town centre, located near to the litter strewn Mere park…read more I do sometimes get the feeling they are coastin along knowing that they are the only chip shop in the local area, and that if you want them from anywhere else you would have to travel right out of town to get them. The chips certainly arent as nice as they used to be a few years ago, and yet other chippies in the area still are, so the staff trying to say its down the potatoes are fibbing. Large range of food though, so even if not everyone in the family wants chips, they can still get food.

Only problem is they shut for 2 weeks during the summer and it always seems to coincide with my time off! The chip shop backs on to the local lake, so it nice to buy a bag of chips and then walk down the watch the ducks. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of the chip shop and council in putting out lots of bins, there are still a lrge numbers of litter bugs which ruin the area for everyone. The chip shop is near to the whole glut of takeways in Alsager, but being the only chip shop in alsager does have that as its pulling power. Food is always good, and the pizzas are competing with the local kebab and pizza shops for taste, but not in sizethe small really is very small!

It used to be the best takeaway in town,…read morebut since a change in recipes came about the produce has been mediocre at best. the pizzas in particular have gone from being very tasty, to a bit doughy and greasy tasting. having said that, papas does offer not only the basics of a takeaway (pizza, burgers, kebabs etc) but also has a curry side to it, which does produce much better tasting produce.

Its in a central position so good for stopping off at wherever you have been out drinking, and as its cheap you aren;t exactly expecting high quality food. service is quite good though, and the pizzas are made to custom order. Never had any problem with feeling ill after food which makes a change form most take aways too!

Most people in my town are quite the fan of easy to get, fast food. Our town is filled with kebab…read morehouses and takeouts but Mcdonalds is the old crooner to say the least. It is situated conveniently next to a shell garage. There is ample parking space and there is the option of drive-thru if you want to take it home with you. The restaurant itself has many seats and is always kept moderately clean however there are times where it seems the little cleaning person can't keep up during the peak selling time! Staff are rather friendly and some seem to have gone from part time when the shop was built to now full time.. There are limited number of toilets as I have only been in the ladies I imagine the gents are the same - 2 They are rather cramped and usually disgusting but there are only 2 in the whole building. You do get your food on time but make sure you check what you are given as numerous times in the past I have found they have missed out something from my order! If you do opt for the drive-thru be warned as some daft plonker has placed a speed bump right outside the last window so you end up having to balance or park just before it (which if you are small like me with little arms lol you'll find difficult!) It gets worse as the day progresses, during the afternoon you find many van men coming for a bite to eat - making the atmosphere rude and unpleasant as well the car park a nightmare. During the evening the car park is usually strewn with chavs in naffly done up saxos blasting music. The staff I have found in the evening are humerous in a sense yet provide you with poorer quality food and can sometimes be a little slow with service.
