Location:
Very cool layout and atmosphere. You have both the option of sitting inside and enjoying the cool deco around you, or outside in the terrace if the weather is nice (German weather is unpredictable after all). The place is also pretty spacious, so don´t hesitate coming with a big group. The more the merrier! I generally don´t comment on this, but the bathroom design is actually pretty cool. So even if you don´t have to go, it is worth checking it out.
Service:
Staff was very friendly and attentive, even though we had a little confusion and delay as the waitress thought we were still waiting for someone else. That was partly our fault, so this did not affect my rating at all. Other than that, all the dishes came relatively fast and the time in between drinks, starters, main dishes and dessert were flawless. By flawless I mean enough time in between dishes to build up some appetite without starving you.
Food&Drinks:
Food was fantastic! Everything was delicious and from a designer point of view food presentation was splendid. I was ready to give this place a 5, but there were two small but very important things that simply stopped me from doing so. Firstly, I ordered an english medium rare Ball Tip Roast (US Beef) with Chimichurri sauce and Majoran Waldpilze as a side dish. This combo seemed very promising, but the meat was rather overcooked. In their defense, it was still pretty damn good. And secondly, the chimuchurri was my biggest disappointment. As a Latin American I know exactly how it should taste, and it didn´t even come close. Dessert made up for this though. We decided to order a couple of Süßer Blumentopf and Käse aus Frankreich. The presentation of the former was brilliant not to mention delicious and the latter was simply mindblowing. Perfect combination with the Rioja we were already drinking.
To sum up, Tafelsilber is a must if you are in Düsseldorf. No further comments...
Mucho Love,
D.
