What can one say (write) about an Army Base that's not really an active duty post anymore, per say? It's large, sprawling, ready and able to facilitate Army Reserve unit's from across the country though, so it's got that going for itself.
Converted WWII barracks that are both barbaric and efficient. Open bay style as if you were in boot camp still, and one bathroom per floor. No A/C, but plenty of windows and large fans to keep things tolerable.
Having never been there during the winter months, I do question the barracks' ability to keep things warm though.
As a whole, it does well for massive Army Reserve training exercises, but it still leaves a lot to be desired for long term "Residency," if you will. And to clarify, 1st Army (active component) is on post. Nevertheless, I'd hate to spend anymore time than required here.
You might have a different opinion, which you're entitled to, but this guy has seen enough, thanks. read more
