Covered by a thicket of bamboo and other pleasant overgrown greenery, you'll find yourself transported to a small haven where you can read, meditate or commune with nature (and cats!). It felt almost like a fairytale land. I found it very cool to have a private park inside of an already amazing park. It's a pretty fantastic, and in my experience unprecedented, idea to have a secluded area in a park so that denizens can just relax to themselves. There's a small lending library, a shrine to our Lady of Guadalupe next to a cave and plenty of colorful benches for peeps to relax on. Subtle classical and world music adds to the atmosphere. So if you're feeling ennui or need to escape the chaos of everyday life, this could be the perfect antidote.

I dragged a friend here for a stand-up comedy event -- we had tickets for a performance in a…read moresmaller room with three rows of chairs on risers, and a small platform at the front. My friend had some misgivings -- but that was all forgiven after the first comic came on stage! While I missed some of the colloquialisms, I was sufficiently entertained as a non-native Spanish speaker and enjoyed the evening a lot. Great independent theater that really crams in a lot in the building - I think there are like four or five performance areas! Definitely check it out!
