Called ahead to see if they could accommodate us or take a reservation for 4 adults and 2 infants. They said they had a table outside but wouldn't give us a reservation so we could secure it as we walked there. By the time we got there the table was luckily still available but they wouldn't listen that we didn't need a table for 6 like they kept saying they didn't have. The infants were being worn and no stroller or high chairs needed. Eventually they just gave us the 4 chair top. The drinks were all seasonal and unique on the menu. I got the Santa slide (white one). The 2 red ones weren't good, run run reindeer, I didn't taste the other but they said it was good. I got the roasted chicken with fries. Both were good. Also had gotten warm bread for the table and got the butter and oil with it. Both the butter and oil were excessive amount for the amount of bread you get. She saw we were out and offered more bread, not mentioning that it was an additional charge, just assumed she was being nice since she saw there was so much butter and oil left, but we got charged. If you don't know this place also adds a surcharge to every table. Rather than charge appropriately to pay their staff, they sneak this "fee" in but then still want a tip too. According to the note in the bathroom I saw after the bill was paid the surcharge is to pay their staff better wages, but then they double dip on people that don't see this so effectively getting double tipped. This is the reason I made it 2 stars, otherwise the food would be a 3. read more

We ordered the catch of the day which was grouper. It was very fishy and not good. When we told this to the server she told us that previous customers had said the same thing. I asked why she didn't mention that to us and she said she had been told that it wouldn't be as fishy anymore - really? It would seem that the restaurant knew they had bad fish but continued to sell it. No Pretty disappointing all around. The place is so cozy and visually pleasing. I loved the bar. We had the cod sandwich which was 23.00 and it was overly sweet and came lukewarm. I didn't care for it at all. It's not a good recipe at all. The corn chowder was ok as well. The house salad was very tasty and good as well as the truffle fries. I really don't understand the menu. Drinks are split up in different areas as well as the food. Way too confusing. It was actually frustrating. I saw items I would have preferred to have as I leafed through it after I ate. The bar's namesake drink is a carbonated quinine water based drink which is delicious and in limited supply. I had a drink there called "Daddy, Chill" but I honestly can't remember what was in it. It was good though. I've only tried really basic things on the menu like the fish sandwich and house salad. Again, not a memorable meal. I do remember having truffle fries and fried green tomato which were good. The Hecht & Bannier rose was a nice pairing with the fish. But can you trust this review since apparently the tonics are like the Severance procedure? Your outie is happy that your innie is apparently enjoying this bar restaurant. read more

We always have a fantastic experience at Forgotten Tonic. Just visiting for the day, we decided to have lunch at our favorite St. Augustine spot. We started with the Crispy Artichoke appetizer, which really fills you up. Crispy and delicious artichoke pieces, warm & crispy bread, and the rich & creamy dip are heavenly. For our meals, we decided on two sandwiches to split and of course, had to trufflize our fries. The Burrata sandwich had a wonderful walnut pesto and the creamiest burrata that went perfectly with the focaccia bread. The chicken sandwich had so many flavors that made for a delicious bite. The chicken thigh was juicy and could be eaten all by itself, but the pimento cheese, pickled onions, dill pickle chips, and hot honey, along with the soft pretzel roll sent it over the top. Our server was great too, very attentive and made sure our waters were always refilled. As always, the restaurant was busy, inside and out. Most of the booths were full when we arrived and all of the outside tables were full when we left. Still our favorite place in St. Augustine and happy to see others feel that way too! read more

I came with some friends on a week night to have some cocktails and an appetizer. The hostess told us she was hesitant for us to sit outside due to potential rain. We looked at the radar and did not see rain and told her we would be ok. She warned us that if it rained she may not be able to move us inside. We told her it was totally ok and that we would just be having one round of drinks and an appetizer and would leave in about 45 min. She insisted that it was going to rain. Finally we said we really would like to be outside and she finally obliged. The service was slow. The best part of the experience was the bartender who was super friendly and very kind. We asked him to make a replica drink and he was able to and even came outside to see how we were doing. If I ever return I will just go to the "bar aisle to order because that bartender was truly awesome read more

This was difficult to rate. Hubs and I visited this place a couple times when it was Cellar but this was a totally different experience. I was craving mussels so that is what I ordered. Hubs and I were visiting with one of his coworkers, who lives close by. We all ordered drinks as well. The restaurant was not much different than when it was under a previous name. The menu was different and maybe it was a little busier than our previous visit but in the end, disappointing in a sense. Our drinks arrived in a timely manner so we sipped on those while deep in conversation. Hubs and his coworker's entrees arrived in a timely manner, while I waited for mine. They both finished everything on their plates and I was still waiting! Finally, a manager came over and offered a round of drinks on the house to compensate. That was a good gesture but I was still without my food. So a quick reason why I get frustrated/anxious in restaurants-being a type 1 diabetic, you have to load up on insulin in advance to when you're eating. So if you don't eat in time, you crash. That is what was happening. Luckily it did not become an extreme crash, but still uncomfortable. When the mussels finally arrived, they were good. Not the best but definitely not the worst. I waited close to 45 minutes for my meal to arrive and not really acceptable for what I ordered. I am glad management stepped in but not cool when my fellow patrons were already finished with their meals and I was still waiting. What was worse, there were no updates in the interim. I think the staff may be the same from the previous restaurant because we experienced similar issues previously. It is definitely a cozy place inside so I do want to try them again. read more

This hidden neighborhood gem located in St. Augustine for a late dinner was just what we were looking for. This cute little chic bistro is open seven days a week 11am to 11pm Sun-Thur and 11-midnight Sat and Sunday. I had the Fish Sandwich with fries $21. It was delicious. First time eating at FT last week with 4 friends. Service was great- Natalie did a terrific job. All of our meals were wonderful, with the exception of the fish sandwich. It was triple tail and absolutely delicious, but the gigantic ciabatta bread bun was overbearing for the delicate flavors of the fish and slaw. The bun was also cold, which was not too appealing. We all agreed that a lighter sandwich bun should be used, and toasted or heated. Other than that, no complaints at all! Johnny, the bartender was very personable, knowledgeable, and fantastic to speak with. I was shocked and impressed that they put out so much food from such a tiny kitchen! Sophisticated place to celebrate any life event. Very good service, our waitress was very professional. I have to applaud her for not touching the inside of my plate and top of my glass, it is rare in US to find someone that professional in a regular restaurant. Food was delicious, trout was juicy and cooked through which was perfect reminded me of home and Mediterranean cooking. Butter and bread were devine and olives were out of this world. This pasta was also great and everyone at the table loved their food. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing but upbeat enough that people can listen to good Music and have meaningful conversation. What a super cool spot we found!! We came here on a Saturday night and waited about 10 minutes to order at the bar. The bar itself is decked out in Christmas swag and they have an entire Christmas menu of cocktails (and mocktails that pregnant me could enjoy--yay!). Everyone loved their drinks! Through word of mouth, I heard this bar was continuing the Miracle pop-up through the end of January. I never made it in time to the Orlando one, so I was so excited to visit! I went around 1pm on a Saturday and sat at the bar. I really loved all the holiday decorations, strung up lights, Christmas trees, stockings, and Santa hats on all the chairs. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the old fashion off the Miracle menu that had gingerbread in it. VERY GOOD. I really wanted the Santa pants cup (to take cute pictures obviously) and the bartender made this accommodation. The drink was strong and flavorful. I liked the ice ball in the drink that kept it super cold. Many people around were ordering lunch and the food smelt and looked great. Tried the Raising Cane and it was very good. Highly recommend. Also tried the FT burger. The sautéed onions got me to try it. The fries surprisingly taste almost like a McDonalds fry. Came here when it was the Miracle pop up bar! We have been to another Miracle bar in Orlando, and I think they did not decorate as much here to be honest. The drinks were all very good, but the one I wanted they ran out of the cool special cup to put it in so I ended up ordering something else. All the holiday drinks came in fun glasses so that was a part of the whole lore of coming here during this time! We did try dessert and the cheesecake was so decadent and sweet - i loved it! I've been here several times over the years, but only ever for the Christmas bar. Miracle at Forgotten Tonic. It is a consistently wonderful experience. Lovely decor and amazing drinks. I got the mulled wine and my friend got the hot buttered rum beverage. Both were excellent ( I tasted hers for quality assurance purposes). Mulled wine is one of my favorite holiday drinks and this is a quality version. The cups are different depending on the beverage you choose, and they are all adorable. The staff is so pleasant and the bartenders are very engaging. Service is excellent! Highly recommend this experience to get fully into the Christmas spirit.
