Our son and daughter had the pork and fish and chips. Great wine and beer selection. Service was awesome and felt like a family restaurant. They also had local music, which was wonderful. This was the 1st time in my life I ordered them because I tried my friends plate. Omgoodness! It was heavenly and zero fishy flavor. The wine sauce was amazing. Friend ordered scallops and they were really good. Presentation was also really nice. They brew their own beers, and I could have easily order a 4th pint of their expedition Ale!

They truly made you feel comfortable and right at home. Frank was even kind enough to drive us to the center of town one evening. The house is beautiful, located right on the Kenmare Golf Course with a great patio you can sit out and enjoy on sunny days. Our room was perfect-spacious, bed comfy and bathroom meticulously clean. Breakfast was delicious and coffee nice & strong(the way I like!). The location of the B&B is ideal- a quick 10-15 minute walk to the center of town where there are ample delicious restaurants/good pubs. Staying in Kenmare is also a great spot to visit the Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula- of which we visited both during our stay. I cannot say enough great things about The Old Church B&B and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was one of my favorite B&B's during our two week Wild Atlantic Way road trip.

The home is furnished with the most beautiful antiques. The breakfast is amazing. Fresh herbs from the garden, and the freshest best breakfast of our trip. Beyond all else, the owners were the most delightful people. We really felt that we had been the guests of friends who we will cherish.

Driftwood Bed & Breakfast

One of my favorite B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland, and one of the nicest, Driftwood Bed and Breakfast…read morein Kenmare is ideal for visiting the local sites. Right off the start, if you plug in the address of Driftwood Bed and Breakfast in your GPS, you will end up on a golf course behind the actual B&B. Driftwood is located right on R569, so stay on that road and it will be on the left if you're coming from Kenmare (if you hit the old church you've gone too far). GPS issues aside, you're in for a treat at Driftwood B&B. It feels more like staying in a good friend's home than anything else. Your hosts Mignonne and Peter are immensely friendly and knowledgeable in the area, and more than accommodating. Parking is readily available out front of the B&B and it's a 10-15 min walk to downtown Kenmare and a good jumping off point for the Ring of Kerry. The rooms are large and plush, with a large bed (if it's a double it's a big double, probably closer to a queen), private bathroom, satellite TV, and fast WiFi. Everything looks to be really new and up-to-date, and the place is refreshingly modern and yes, there are pieces of driftwood decorating the walls. The breakfast is made to order by Peter, who provides a menu with several options along with a serve yourself breakfast area. The food is pretty good and light, a welcome reprieve in Ireland in which you usually stuffed with large breakfasts. All in all, you'll probably love Driftwood B&B, and rightfully so. It's ideally located in Kenmare, near downtown, the Ring of Kerry, and several golf courses, and with new a modern amenities. I highly recommend.

Hawthorn House
My stay at Hawthorn House was most enjoyable. The room was spacious and comfortable. The owner,…read moreMary O'Brien, was a warm and personable hostess. We arrived in time for dinner and her recommendations took us to a place where we got a top notch meal followed by a short walk across the street to the pub she recommended to get a properly poured pint of Guinness (nothing like it) while locals in the pub celebrated a win at Celtic football by taking turns choosing someone in the crowd to sing and lead the room singing a tune accompanied by a small group of local musicians. Breakfast was made to order and served in a lovely dining room filled with tables made by her late husband. I would stay with Mary again, given a chance.
