SAVED MY LIFE My…read moreestranged wife and her boyfriend had hired three high-powered lawyers, demanding a third of my income for ten years, renewable at their whims. I'm 57 - that would have destroyed my financial future. My previous lawyer had already charged me ten thousand dollars in monthly fees before we'd ever even spoken to a judge, and demanded another ten to finish the job, so I was forced to walk away, saying "enough is enough!" That left me desperate: I was facing three crack lawyers with no representation, a month before pre-trial. I asked everywhere for help, and finally a public defender told me "I know JUST the guy". The next day, a man with a tough, no-nonsense tone called me back. He asked me for details, listened carefully and said "I think I can help you," he said, "come out to my office and we'll talk". When Jason Sullivan came to the hall to meet me, he looked like a part-time boxer: tough, with a gleam of humor in his eye. His handshake was strong, his eye contact unwavering. He picked up on subtle things my previous attorney hadn't even noticed: my ex had signed an affidavit claiming she didn't own a car, then cited the need for gas and oil for the car she didn't own. During the hearing, Jason was calm, measured, and polite, as my ex asserted lie after lie; pretending to need a restraining order when she had no cause, claiming to have been sleeping on friends' couches when she had been living with her boyfriend for years; claiming to barely speak English, when she had a masters degree in teaching the language. Jason had coached me on staying quiet while he handled the situation, so I held back, even when the urge to blurt out "She's lying!" was almost overwhelming. He was right. The judge dismissed the restraining order, and her lawyers backed down; the final settlement was about a twentieth what they'd been seeking, and Jason never charged me another dime beyond his retainer. When the dust settled, he invited me into his office, as happy as I was with the outcome. Called to get some information regarding a possible lawsuit, understandably I have waited a great…read moredeal of time to seek counsel for this matter, however the woman I spoke with was beyond rude. Attorneys are known for terrible reputations and this woman is a prime example. Regardless of her personal issues, opinions of someone's intentions (maybe she would have a tiny bit of empathy if she had bothered to actually LISTEN instead of be a judgmental B****) but apparently her only concern is to treat potential clients as pond scum rather than take a moment to hear out the reasons behind the consultation. Seek ANY other attorney or firm if you would like to be heard BEFORE you are judged by someone who cannot be an actual judge. Pretty sure she is a law clerk or paralegal which makes her snappy rudeness even less attractive. Hopefully karma will visit her soon and be just as harsh with her as she was with me. You don't make enough $ in your job to talk to anyone in that manner. Time for a reality check.
