The bank sucks. Their people are elitist, uninterested, unknowledgeable about the answer to ANY…read morequestion you might ask, and uncooperative. The Cottonwood, AZ branch has a woman mgr who told me, herself, that she doesn't like men. She said when men talk like men, she refuses to to deal with them. The corporate office wanted to make a big deal of it, gender harassment or something, but, perhaps because I am a man, I told them I didn't care about that; I just wanted to get my banking done. Recently I wrote a check that was, admittedly, large for me. So I didn't get upset when they sent me a text. I texted back "yes" as directed, but that wasn't good enough. I called the bank. Every time you call a bank, they make you prove your identity, so there shouldn't have been a problem when I instructed them to go ahead and honor the check. I told them I was investing in a friend's business, told them the amount of the check, the name of the friend and even that he was trying to deposit the check in their bank--I even had HIS account number. They didn't even have to move the money, just change the name on it. But that wasn't good enough for the bank. I called the bank three times and talked to five different people and told them all--after proving who I was--that I wanted them to honor the check. But that wasn't good enough for the bank. After 3 frikking days and all that communication I had to go down to the bank and talk to the mgr. I remembered the man-hating mgr. She told me again she just didn't talk to men who talked to her like men. I wonder at women like that, who will tell you they demand it as a right that they should be allowed to compete fairly with men in the business world, but then they try to change that world. It's not competing if you have to change the rules to play. Men in the business world--at least men in the traditional sense of the word--don't complain when men talk like men. If a little "goddam" slips out, or if you just complain about some aspect of the service you have received or are receiving at that moment, a man doesn't go all to pieces about how rude and threatening you are. Really, he doesn't even notice. But it doesn't work that way at wells fargo bank. That's not good enough for this woman mgr. So I'm pissed at the bank by this point, rightfully, and I'm an outspoken guy when wronged, so I tell her, "You're not going to like the way I talk to you this time, either." So she called some young guy to deal with me. I guess she thought that would intimidate me. It didn't. I'm not afraid to point out stupid truths to people in power, including their own failure to to do an adequate job. Here's the problem in a nutshell--and see if you can answer the question. Why in the world, when I'm standing eyeball to eyeball with the bank mgr, her young guy she called over, and every other bank employee and customer in the building and tell that mgr that I wrote the check and I want her to honor it, why can't she then just process the check like every other check, the way they should have in the first place? Why, after all this trouble, do I still have to go through some long paper process of writing a cashier's check and moving money around, and then physically depositing it into my friend's account? I went through all that crap, days of wasted time and frustration followed by a face to face process that defines stupidity and lack of customer service, and 5 days later I'm still getting texts from the bank's fraud detection dept. And I'm still getting emails telling me that my balance is below zero. Of course it's not. I withdrew every penny except 35 cents, and when I go online, that's the balance shown in my account. So then, I guess in retaliation, the bank mgr called the police on me to tell me I will be trespassing if I go on bank property. This is the bank that, theoretically, has my money, but I'm not allowed to go into the bank to straighten things out. In the meantime, they are stealing my money. They only credited a little less than two thirds of my recent Social Security check. So let's review. The bank jerks me around on the check I wrote to the point where I still don't know if the money is safely transferred or not, tries to trick me into depositing more cash to cover a non-existent shortage in my account, steals part of my SS check, then calls the cops so I can't go to the bank and get answers to my questions and can't get my money back from them. Let's all remember, it was only a few years ago that Wells Fargo was caught stealing from their customers. I gave them a chance and they failed badly. It's serious to steal a person's SS money.

His tone and pace never changed while trying to help me and he was never annoyed. After a bit he was able to help me figure out my account and relieved my anxiety. It took the girl who assisted me about an hour just to fill out the paperwork... she seemed confused at best. As of today, I still haven't heard from them. No follow up phone call, no e-mail, nothing. After a week of waiting, I gave up and opened up a business checking account with a "real bank" without any issues. A business checking account should be opened up the same day when you provide the bank with the documentation. My new bank verified my information online and opened my account the same day. They were friendly and actually appreciated my business, unlike this bank. The branch manager and his employees appeared to enjoy laughing with each other in his office rather than taking care of their customers. That alone should have told me everything I needed to know about this bank. I totally agree with Kay's review. Horrible bank no customer service. Don't waste your time.
