FEES FEES FEES!!!! I swear this place would charge you for breathing if they could. They completely lowball everything in an estimate so you end up paying twice as much as promised. With utilities fees internet, you end up paying close to $500 dollars a month on top of the base rent. They have a lease that basically says you're on your own for everything, maintenance requests are only answered if you call the office. I do not have a since good thing to say. They sold me a completely different apartment than the one they promised, anything they say DO NOT BELIEVE!! It will quite literally save you thousands. I co-signed a lease with my daughter last May. We worked with Daniela, and she was very helpful. I mention this because I just got back from visiting my daughter, and Daniela is still there. That tells me that they treat their employees well. Have there been problems. Of course. My daughter's apartment is on the ground floor and during a freak series of storms, she had flooding. The after hours were responsive and sent someone out to vacuum up the water, and they left fans running to dry everything out. They maintain the grounds well. They send out regular emails with fun events. My daughter feels safe. For the most part, it's difficult to get in since there are external doors. Door Dash and Lyft seem to be able to find the place easily. There's always an open guest parking spot near my daughter's apartment. On my wish list is an easier way to get packages. If you get one that's big and heavy and you're in another building, you need to find someone to help you transport it. And sometimes packages get delivered to the other building and get brought back to the correct one a bit later that would be good (kind of important for food delivery). I appreciate that they are regularly updating units and are trying to maintain a safe and friendly place for people. read more

I don't know how they get away with having a 3 star rating. This is one of the worst apartment complexes I've ever lived in. Bad: 1) there is dog poop and pee everywhere. I have 2 dogs and I clean up after them but apparently not all people at this complex can do that. Even indoor hallways smell like pee. 2) walls are super thin. I can hear everything my neighbors do and all the annoying kids running through the halls. And there's a lot of dogs barking all the time - which I can live with because I have dogs. 3) I feel the amount you pay for rent for what you get is exorbitant. I'm from California so that's saying something. 4) they do not do a good job explaining/breaking down the costs you will have each month on top of rent when you are looking into the apartments. Expect to pay 100-300$ more than whatever they tell you. (Hopefully they don't tack anything on for a bad review LOL but I really can't stand this place) 5) They offer incentives for good reviews so I would be hesitant to take any of the good reviews here seriously. 6) STUPID Luxor package pickup - so this is where they store your packages bc there isn't a good place to put them near your physical apartment. Your package pickup area is most likely not in your building. You have 3 days to pick up packages or they get returned to sender -- so you better not go on vacation. They often break down or packages say delivered but you can't actually find them -- so never order anything nice to the apartment. 7) Garbage is always full and the management gets mad at you for putting any trash on your patio but sometimes it's physically impossible to put more trash in the dumpsters because it's overflowing. 8) cars are frequently broken in to. Multiple times a week, every week. They recently put up signs saying that the parking lot has cameras in it but that stops nothing. My neighbor got their car broken in to and I heard the police talking to them -- the police said the fact that the cars are covered makes any camera coverage insignificant ( YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING) Good: 1) there's a dog park across the street and free dog poop bags (the really cheap, thin kind). The only reason I chose to live here was for my dogs. 2) Makayla is fantastic - better than the manager and maintenance is quick and easy to get in touch with... though I feel it's a losing battle for them because this is a dilapidated 70s apartment complex. 3) there is a "gym" - extremely small ... for example, there's only 2 treadmills and 1 of them is frequently broken Please don't live here. I beg of you. They will offer some pacifying response to these complaints. Use your hard earned money to rent from somewhere else or to actually pay a mortgage. read more

Hot water has been intermittent for two weeks now. Four times I've had to shower in ice cold water. I've called multiple times but problems persist. I'm not so sure I'll renew my lease because for 1500 dollars a month in rent, I don't expect to take cold showers as often as I have been. read more

Foothill Place Apartments - Flooded mail room. - Apartments Near Me - Salt Lake City, Utah

I would not recommend living here. My boyfriend and I have lived here for a little over a year and have been disappointed with our experience. Negatives: 1) Our kitchen light burned out at least 5 times in the first 6 months or so. Maintenance would usually be quick to come replace the bulbs, but within a few days they would burn out again so there is obviously a bigger issue. We discussed this with maintenance a couple times and they still claimed it was the lightbulbs. We eventually got tired of the hassle and we now just have a lamp in our kitchen and don't use the light because we know if the bulbs are replaced they will just burn out again. One of our outlets has also blown out several things plugged into it so it seems to be an electrical issue. We also discussed this with maintenance and they said it seemed fine. 2) The toilet in the apartment above us leaked and the water went all over our bathroom. Again maintenance was quick to respond, and they fixed the leaky toilet above us. They cut a hole in our bathroom ceiling to assess the damage and then said they would contact us when the independent contractor could come patch the hole. We had a hole in the ceiling for 5 days, and other parts of the ceiling are still mushy months later. We were not contacted by the office or the contractor- he just showed up at our door with a key to our apartment. I was home alone and had to call the office to make sure he was the correct person and he was supposed to be there. He patched the hole but there are still paint splatters on the walls and floor, and there was debris left from the ceiling. 3) The water in the building will intermittently shut off with no warning. When I call the office they tell me they don't know how long it will be before it comes back on. 4) This place is definitely overpriced for what you get. They will charge for everything they can. I have never lived in an apartment that charged every resident real estate tax. I know the fees are in the lease, but by the time you are about to sign your lease it's a little late to back out and start the process over somewhere else. 5) The community washers and dryers are always dirty and will leave huge spots and marks on my clothes that do not come out unless I wash them again (and we pay for each load of laundry). I refused to have a washer and dryer in the apartment because we had to pay extra each month to have them and we pay for our water so it seemed like a huge waste of money. Positives: 1) The dog park is a decent size. 2) Great location and surrounding neighborhoods are nice. 3) Staff are pretty friendly for the most part. read more

My roommate and I are moving out at the end of the month and we have had a fantastic experience. They are extremely accommodating and maintenance requests are always handled right away. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I think this one will be helpful to people in the future. Me and my roommates were looking for a place and we decided to tour a two bedroom apartment at foothill place. The apartment was old and a little stinky, and so were ALL the appliances. We decided we could get used to the smell and we could deal with the appliances so we went ahead and applied. The guy who gave us the tour told us it was available. The application fee was $45 each ($135 total) and non refundable. Little did we know, someone else moved in the same day we toured! We were pissed but we asked for our money back because we were told it was available and encouraged to apply. They didn't refund us. They said the only thing they could do was transfer the application to a different, more expensive apartment. The pictures you see online are not accurate and the people are simply dishonest. read more

These apartments are great so I'm not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. While my family and I have only been here for a few months, I have had nothing but positive experiences dealing with the leasing agents and the maintenance crew. Makayla in the leasing office is super sweet and is always quick to respond to any questions or concerns and all maintenance issues are usually resolved within 24-48 hours. Finally, the apartment grounds are always clean and we are really loving the resort style pools and dog park this time of year. read more

Don't be fooled by the fancy pictures. Here are my gripes: 1. Dog waste is everywhere 2. The interiors are not maintained (worn carpeting, tripping hazards, peeling walls) 3. Management is unresponsive and condescending 4. The lease agreement is strict and management is very trigger happy to nickel and dime you 5. Price keeps rising ~$80 a year without amenity upgrades 6. Parking is terrible 7. Neighbors can be gross (leaving trash everywhere in the halls, dinging other tenant's vehicles, leaving rotting trash in the washer/dryer rooms or doggie bags in the halls) 8. Security is awful, nobody locks the doors leaving easy access for theft 9. Theft of property, even if you lock up your storage/vehicle will be broken into, no less than 4 hours and anything of slight value (wore shoes, old tools, welcome mat) will be stolen off of your front door Enjoy your stay! read more

Foothill place apartments has been one of the worst apartments to live in. We have had very little water pressure for 8 months, and when we put in a work order they never showed up to fix the issue, which happened 3 times. We've had problems with all the appliances in the apartment and getting someone to fix those for the past 8 months as well. Lastly, my roommate and myself were gone for 2 months in the summer and we told the office we were not going to renew our lease, with no information on signing forms to vacate and they are adding another month on the lease as we are one day past the grace period and the office was very rude and would not work with us at all. I would try any other options you have to live first before going here. read more

Let me share what a crap hole this complex is! The first two weeks I lived here my LOCKED motorcycle was stollen. A month after that my brand new Tacoma had the passenger window smashed and broken into. Now yesterday someone broke through my back window and stole my back pack and multiple items out of my LOCKED car! It was parked in its assigned parking spot! We were all notified a month ago that we had NEW security... well... they suck! We pay waaaaay to much for this unsafe crapshoot they call a apartment complex! Can't wait until my lease is up... DONT MOVE HERE!! Oh, don't forget the cigarette smoke that is constantly coming through our vents, oh wait.. isn't this a NON SMOKING COMPLEX??? Oh and the constant heating or water going out, the AC, m the loud yard maintenance at 7 in the morning. The constant random weird people walking around looking in car windows. The dog crap that no one cleans up! FIND A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE, AVOID FOOTHILL PLACE APARTMENTS!!! Had to update with a BREAK IN TOTAL OF 5 TIMES!!! I have lived at Foothill Place one year now (just signed a lease renewal), and it has been splendid. The view of the valley to the west is spectacular from my balcony. When I've had a repair issue (stove, clothes dryer) the management responded immediately, and the repairs were made within a day. This location is the best for me, too, only 3 miles from the U. They keep the grounds and common areas reasonably clean, and clear the snow and ice from the walkways promptly. They also recently secured the outer doors to the buildings, so only tenants can access the hallways. I like the dog park, but wish it had a double gate entry and exit, to keep the dogs from escaping into the street. My only other minor complaint is that there is only one recycle bin, at one end of the property, and it's almost always overflowing--- it should be more convenient for everyone to recycle cans, bottles, and cardboard. Five Stars! Update! The dog park now has a double gated entry / exit, for safety. Update: a second recycling bin has been added to the property, and it's in a more central location. BAD NEWS: the hot water in my building isn't working intermittently-- about 2-3 days per month lately. The management has reassured me numerous times that the problem will be fixed, but it has not been fixed. I have lost my patience, and will be moving out ASAP. Everything else is still good, so I'm removing just one of my original 5 stars. Update! The hot water has been 100% good for three months now. Yay!!! I'm moving out next week, and I still can recommend Foothill Place to anyone who needs a place to rent convenient to the U of U and Downtown SLC. read more

Positives: I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. I moved in here a little more than a year ago from another apartment complex in the avenues, that would have been considered a lot "nicer". We ended up paying the same price in rent for a much bigger space, and the extra bathroom, and balcony. Anytime we have any maintenance issues, they are right on the problem. We came back from Hawaii after 2 months (we're college students), and found our toilet to be leaky. That same day, maintenance came and replaced our toilet with a whole new one in under 2 hours of work. They update and renovate the pools and gym often, and respond to complaints well, if any are made. I think this complex is just fine. Negatives: It's mostly college kids or graduates so it can be a bit noisy sometimes during reasonable hours, but it's always well maintained if needed to be. As far as break-ins, we did have one in our outside pantry/closet. Apparently this happened around the entire complex. We took precaution and replaced our locks with our own custom locks. We haven't had a problem since. read more

Literally cannot say a bad thing about this place. The keep the grounds up as best they can. They can't keep up with owners of dogs who decide to leave a mess on the ground (but I see them DAILY) picking up after bad dog owners. The leasing agents were VERY upfront about fees and bills that you would see monthly. They're always quick to respond to any maintenance issues. My neighbors are great! Got my bike stolen from inside the storage in the building. After 2 months license plate was stolen and thought it was coincidence and now the storage unit was opened and bike missing. Also there is a lot of smell horrible smell of tenants smoking although It isn't allowed that and other types of smoke. Really disappointed. read more

I just currently moved out of my apartment at foothill place after a great year. Devin got me into my apartment and was fantastic and Vanessa checked me out and she was equally great to work with. They kept me updated with monthly newsletters and text messages. I was always made aware of changes and important dates. I couldn't help but read reviews and many were negative but believe me they work with you and helped me with anything I had problems with. Very clean and always have someone on call for emergencies. I have lived at Foothill Place for several years. I love it. The new owners are updating everything. We have a newly renovated clubhouse with pool tables, shuffleboard, outdoor fireplace on the deck and many other amenities. The Dog Park party was great fun with gift certificates, toys, treats for the dogs and specials for the residents. The management staff is excellent with Vanessa as a professional and involved manager. The entire complex is well taken care of with consistent cleaning. It has great landscaping, gardens and excellent maintenance. Two pools, a great fitness center and great view are perfect for singles and families. The location has easy access to freeways, the U of U and downtown. They are very resident oriented. read more

They deserve no stars. Somehow lived there for 13 months and let me tell you, I was depressed and broke. They have ONE recycling bin for the entire complex (so most tenants do not recycle..and they are ok with that!! GROSS), the halls smell like a casino because cigs inside are ok?? and everyone has a large, miserable, untrained dog, so if you like casinos that smell like dog poop, Foothill Place Apartments should be your new home!! The apartments are dark, moldy corners in the showers, appliances are below average, they'll tell you they'll clean the carpets, bill you for a carpet cleaning, but those carpets are not clean, there is nothing safe about their balconies, you feel like you take one wrong step and the entire thing is going to crumble into pieces, and NO LIGHTING (you have to bring your own lamps); I had one of the nicer apartments too. This apartment complex will nickel and dime you for everything, every single apartment pays sewer, property tax, monthly parking spot, etc. AND they bill you 45 days later for each month, so when your two months into living at your new home, you'll STILL be receiving bills from your past mistake here at Foothill Place Apartments. The staff is very fake (all they want is your money), very rude, and unprofessional; there was only one maintenance guy that actually cared about me and my apartment. Don't live here if you want decent neighbors, AFFORDABLE and peaceful living. Just FYI, Foothill Place Apartments has been a HORRIBLE experience for me. I've had hot water problems for almost one year. Today, my hot water has been out for about 24 hours now and when I contacted maintenance, they ignored me. I have medical problems that require me to have hot water to prevent infection, so this is a huge problem because my hot water is regularly out! Last month I had a major surgery and went to shower the day of the surgery and had no hot water. When I called to see what was the problem, they told me it was off due to installing an appliance somewhere in the building. My issue is they didn't even provide a notice. How hard is it to send a quick text. They sent me a text when their YAPPY HAPPY Dog Park Party was cancelled, but they can't send me a text to tell me when they're shutting down the hot water? I just retracted my revew thinking this place was ok. That was until I had to deal with the management. Their rent payment system didn't process my payment through my bank account due to some error. I went over with a cashiers check the day after they notified me to pay rent. Now they want me to pay $180 in late fees (maybe half of that, after she talks to her manager) even though it's their end that messed up. This place is complete bull. This place would charge you for the air you breathe if they could. You have to pay for ALL services, garbage, sewer, and tenants literally even have to pay for their real estate taxes. They milk every single penny they possibly can, they are CROOKS. Live somewhere that isn't so fee happy. People moved in here because Foothill place is so vague about their fees and then when people are hit with the bills they immediately moved out. Overall, my experience with the apartment and the community are positive. There is much I love about living here, and yet I find myself unsure about re-upping my lease for next year. Pros: I love my neighbors. Mixed neighborhood with professionals, graduate students, students, families and single people. The dog park provides a great resource and community of awesome folks. Really good people, and fun dogs. Feel comfortable walking my dog at odd hours. Location is amazing for getting to the university or up to Park City. It is easy to bike anywhere I need to go, Bus is great on weekdays. The office staff and maintenance have always been thoughtful, kind and pleasant. In fact, part of the reason I signed a lease so quickly was that I instantly trusted Ken in the office. They don't like to respond to complaints, but for easy fixes or maintenance during business hours they are fantastic. I once texted something about a strange odor in the hallway as I was taking out the trash, and the office girls were there before I had even gotten out the door. Huge Bedrooms and awesome walk in closet. I have quiet neighbors above and next door to me. So close to Bombay house, sugar house, shopping, etc. Newsletter with updates. They just did an annual check of all fire alarms and changed the filters. Sunset view is pretty incredible some nights. Fairly clean grounds, dog owners could do better at picking up poop, but not a lot of other trash. Lots of dogs around helping to keep us safe. Small gym similar to a hotel gym. No leg weight machines, but cardio machines, balance balls and one universal arm/shoulders/etc machine. Cons: Theft is rampant. The night I moved in someone had broken into a car I parked next to and spray painted another car. Since then motorcycles have been stolen, cars are often broken in to and my next door neighbors apartment was broken in to through a sliding glass door that the thieves shattered. Storage closets have been broken in to often. Creepy People that don't live here roam about. I had a complete stranger show up on my back patio, a neighbor found someone looking in random car windows and then hiding behind a dumpster. He said he was dumpster diving. Mostly nothing illegal, necessarily, but spooky. They had a security officer many nights, over the summer, but no one has seen one lately, now that the second pool is closed. Only one dumpster for recycling, for 400 apartment units. Some laundry machines in hallways do not work, and are not fixed after multiple requests by multiple people, which results in lines of laundry baskets waiting their turn for the ones that do work. In fact, the office sent a newsletter saying that they were moving out some of the machines to make room for new "amenities" (no mention of what those might be), but we could pay an extra $50 a month for stack-able sets in our apartment (higher rent and utilities while losing storage space). They water almost every day, even when it rains. In some places I have lived they would be cited. (They do water at night though) Huge spiders. :) Ants. If you pick everything up the second it hits the floor, they are only intermittent... one every now and then... but they are also in areas (like the bathroom) that have never seen food. Extra notes: I received an outrageous bill (which I saw in another post on here) for my electricity. I thought it might be my fault, so I didn't turn on the air the entire month of august. My bill was actually higher that month. It turned out to be a part on the ceiling that was running 24/7. It cost me $500 ($250 each month as opposed to about $60) in power. So, my advice would be to check your meter a couple of times a month to monitor this. They do not keep watch and the power company does not send a note. (I was spoiled in a small town) I now know where the meter is, and I keep track. My bill went back down to normal range after the part was fixed. Add an extra $90 on top of the rent charge for parking, water, and taxes... etc... (FYI) Some of us are talking about putting up video cameras in our areas, hallways, by our cars, at our own expense. I would plan this into your budget, if you are moving to a lower floor. If they allow us to do this, or do it themselves. Keep any identifying documents or valuable in your purse and do not leave them in your car. I do not keep ANYTHING (like insurance cards, registration) in my car. I take it with me in my purse, because so many people have had it stolen. There is a laundromat down the street that is open until 6:30. Summed up. I like the people, and the location makes everything easy. With a little legwork I think I could find something less expensive and more secure... but convenience counts for a lot right no read more

This place is the worst place I've been in. In addition to loud music and filthy common areas, management has proved to be the most unprofessional I've dealt with. First red flag was when I turned in my application, they requested a "deposit"of $300. Without many questions I paid just to find out later that it was a one time fee for their lawyers to do a background check on me and process my application. They didn't bother to tell me an important detail that this "deposit" is a one time fee. I turned in my key two weeks before my lease expired. During these two weeks, they have gone into my apartment to clean it and left the AC running at all times which caused my Rocky Mountain bill to be significant higher than normal. When I showed them my evidence they simply didn't even want to consider my facts, it's like I was talking to some idiots. I was a perfect tenant for them, paid all my rent on time, no pets, no parties, and they didn't even bother to show some courtesy and listen. SCAM. Never signed the lease, and glad we didn't. Came in looking for a 2 bedroom, but we were quoted at the town home rate which is about $200 more. They wouldn't let us see the actual unit we were moving into until the day before we were supposed to move in, but SWORE up and down it was remodeled, brand new, with view of the mountains. Upon seeing the unit, it was filthy, un-cleaned, NOT REMODELED AND NO VIEW and extremely small for the price, completely different that what we were expecting. NO HARDWOOD FLOORS to be found, which is their biggest selling point?? It's literally on the massive sign as you drive by. Disappointed by the unit, we double-checked the floor plans online to find that they had quoted us an outrageous amount of money, showed us a completely different floor plan that what they had promised and gouged us with hidden fees, pet deposits, parking fees, utility fees etc. Everyone that works here has this frat dude jock vibe which is a huge turn off, but i guess they're good at lying because they were most likely bullies in high school. They are just looking to take advantage of renters who are on a timeline and they know they can make a quick buck. SICKENING. Karma is a B, guys. Hope you get yours. Foothill Place Apartments is the worst complex I have ever lived in. Not only are the management generally incompetent (we had maintenance enter our apartment without knocking and without notice), but perhaps more importantly, the safety of the complex is seriously subpar. I've lived in large, crime ridden cities (even across the street from halfway houses) and have never felt so unsafe as in foothill place. Furthermore, when I contacted managers to express my safety concerns (after a number of troubling incidents), and they generally brushed aside my opinions, citing that it was not their responsibility to keep me safe. In the four months we have lived here, around 20 cars (that we've seen) have been broken into. Mind you, I pay $950 for a one bedroom, which is quite alot in SLC. The owners are not readily willing to invest in external locks for the complex, because it would cost approximately 10 months of rent, for 10 apartments (in a several hundred apartment complex). In spite of the fact that this is not an official "breach of contract" of the complex, I feel that keeping their residents safe should be a significant priority, and it doesn't seem to be. In regards to the other living aspects.... Their pool is nice, but it is a little cold (the pool furniture is the nicest i've seen in apartments). The hot tub is generally filled with college students making out (not necessarily the fault of the complex), and the workout facility needs better HVAC. I haven't been able to locate the recycling bins in the complex, but trash seems to be easily accessible. Parking is generally good, so long as you have an overhang spot, which is limited to one spot per unit (costs $20 per month). The dog park seems nice, but I don't have a dog, so it's not beneficial for me. The location is great. The interiors also look fairly nice, and we don't have a remodeled version; however, our stove is rather dated, but still works. Needless to say, we will be moving the moment our lease is up, at which time we will be probably be required to pay a mass amount of fees. read more

Worst place ever!!! I recently moved from AZ to Utah. From the all the apartments that I visited, which were 7, this was the worst. Their customer service sucks! I called and they gave me options over the phone in regards to what they had available. I made an appointment that same day to tour the place and they said they were excited to have me go visit. I show up and the lady at the desk looks so confused "Do you have an appointment?" And "I don't have you on our book"... Why does that even matter? You are in customer service, take care of me. Isn't that why you get paid anyways? She only gave me one option and said she would have time to tour me around the facility If I went back in three days. That lady needs to be trained in customer service skills and controlling her non-verbals as she looked confused the whole time I was sitting at her desk. BUYER BEWARE. The staff at Foothill Place Apartments will treat you like absolute garbage from the day you sign the lease. I regret my decision to move here. Looking at other reviews for this apartment complex I wonder how they could possibly be describing Foothill Place. I'm a current resident and have lived here since Nov of 2012 . I have had nothing but good experiences and my girlfriend and I are proud to call Foothill Place home. I will admit I was skeptical at first. There are a lot of seemingly asinine fees (non-refundable deposit, parking, etc) but I feel like rent was reasonable enough that these did not matter. I've never had any of the problems that others have described. I've had multiple maintenance issues come up during my 1.5 year stay as anyone could expect. These were always addressed promptly on the next day if not the same day that they were reported. I've had nothing but great encounters with staff and management and they have been more than helpful to me. I got a referral bonus for referring my friend to Foothill when I would have gladly done so for free. I've NEVER had any problems with noise as I feel that the apartments are laid out so that there is space between you and your neighbors. This was, at least, the case with my residence. The only possible negatives are that there is often dog poop all over the grass but I guess that's what you get when you live somewhere that is as pet friendly as Foothill is. Not a big deal. It also is not very walkable but again, I knew that when I chose the location as I'm a fan of the close proximity to freeways and the U of U. If you're a young adult this is about as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned. I moved from run down, older, poorly managed apt. that will not be named near downtown SLC. The pool probably is not as family friendly as something you'd get in Sandy but again. Location. read more

Stay far away from this place. Management is an absolute joke, just some female drones unable to think for themselves. If you ever have any trouble with your apartment you can be sure that you will not receive any help from the front desk. I tried contacting the regional manager by phone and never received any response. Very unprofessional, very hard to deal with. I've lived in foothill place from 2002-2008. Back then it was owned by a different company the staff was beyond amazing. They truly were great and always cared for their residents. Rent was very reasonable at that time. I've lived on the 3rd floor which was a plus for not having anyone above me which means better quality of sleep. The walls are very thin there. You can here every step the person above you takes. The pool is nice. Specially during summer times. Very fun and you meet lots of people. The location is fantastic. Just right by the freeway. Very close to the University of Utah (which I was attending) and close to just about anything you may need. Right after I moved out though, things were changing. Even though I moved out, I still was visiting many of my friends who were still living there. Rent started to go way up high. The management completely changed and it was a brand new staff. A lot of new charges have been added. Noise started becoming the number one complain with many resident. A lot of cars were getting broken into. And I can tell every time I visited that things were going downhill. So for the most part I totally enjoyed living at foothill place apartments but then again this was before the rent went way up and before they started adding all these new charges and before the management changed. The location is still one of the best but the apartments seem to be a thing of the past specially with the booming apartment communities that are being built in the Salt Lake City area. read more

Throughout 4 years of college and the 5 years renting since, these are the worst apartments I have ever lived in. The buildings are dirty and unsecured. The shower leaks. The bathroom sinks leak, and when you call to have them fixed, they come in and halfway fix it without cleaning up the mess behind them. The laundry rooms have been closed since December and we were advised it was due to new machines being put in...they only reopened one set in the entire building and the only way you can use these machines, if they're ever available, is with a prepaid card that can only be filled during the leasing office hours. There's a very high crime rate in this complex and very little being done in response. I've spoken with neighbors about people breaking in through balconies or patios, and vehicle windows are being shattered during broad daylight. The fees are ridiculous. $150 late fee and a $30 "service" fee for taping an eviction notice on your door for all your neighbors to see when rent is one day late. The office staff appears to be college students? Maybe? But they seem to be unsupervised and always distracted with their own fun or personal matters. Also, the complex offers no form of recycling service. They advertise a year round hot tub that is always cold and electric bills are outrageous due to extremely poor insulation...not to mention that you can hear your neighbors chewing, walking, breathing...due, again, to poor insulation. Don't be fooled by listed "amenities" or photos online. This facility has nothing good to offer unless you're desperate. read more

Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. This apartment complex is so fun to live in. GREAT location and the staff is extremely nice. We always receive updates regarding when the water will be shut down or any updates that are needed to be addressed. They put out monthly little newsletter type letters outside our door each month and I love it. The staff is nice, ALTHOUGH, there has been a few times where the girls who work there in the office aren't willing to help and they look irritated to help. These apartments are what you might expect of a large, cheaply constructed complex. The walls and floors are thin making the units loud and expensive to heat. All fixtures from cabinets to faucets are flimsy and easily broken. The buildings and many of the units retain an unpleasant animal odor. You can expect regular maintenance issues from leaky pipes to blown circuits and weekly water shut-offs (although the maintenance guys are nice). Finally, the leasing office is unresponsive and charges a fee for absolutely everything. Don't be sold by the advertised rent, as you can expect to pay plenty more in fees and a poorly structured utility payment system. read more
