By far worst massage ever! Went in because I had sometime to kill there were 3 guys I guess owners or friends of the owner that are sitting next to me staring speaking in Chinese the ENTIRE time. One by one they get up and go in and out the door it is almost like I'm being punked. The lady doing the massage was horrifically horrible and spoke no English so every time I say something to her like ouch watch your fucking nails she stops and consults one of these chatty kathys to translate. My low rating of this place is due to what happened at time of payment. I didn't think the massage was all that bad, but it was pretty typical. They don't appear to be trained in any reflexology or any pressure point massages, but it's still nice to have someone else knead parts of your body and apply pressure on other parts. Upon payment for my $25 foot massage, I tipped $4 (between 15% and 20%). The lady standing at the counter said to the guy who rung me up that my tip was only $4. So I asked if there was a problem. Her response was that tip is a minimum $5. Minimum tip my ass!! I said, the tip is my discretion, is it not? And she couldn't say anything but to agree. Upon leaving I said thank you and good-bye, and when I looked at her she had the stinkiest face ever! If she was unsatisfied with my tip amount, she could have waited until I left to express her dissatisfaction, as a professional would have done. This is America, not China. Also, she was not the person who gave me my massage, and thus has no idea of the quality of service I received, so she's in no position to ask for a higher tip. I think everyone can agree that it's unprofessional to confront a customer about their tip amount being too low, but was I in the wrong considering I didn't think the massage was exceptional? I never know whether to tip when I'm paying for a service already, and if so, how much is appropriate. read more

I always pay the extra $10 for an extra 10 min massage when I get a mani or pedi. and this place does it for an hour for $25! BEST. DEAL. EVER! It's called foot spa but you actually get a head, arm, leg and even a back massage for the last 10 min and you don't take your clothes off! This place also stays open until 9! I will never ever go back! Yes it's cheap but you may as well massage your own feet or ask your neighbor to do it. There was no technique to the "massage" not was it really a foot massage. It was basically the same crap you get when you get your nails done and they scrub your legs. No reflexology. When I asked the masseuse to change the pressure he started talking to the other masseuse in their language...oh and the smell of cigarettes on his hands and the towels was really relaxing. This was the highlight of our vacation, and the last stop before we left town. A perfect way to wrap up a vacation! We did the $25 Foot Massage and WOW. These folks really know what they're doing. Everything was clean and orderly. There was a little talking going on, but I'm guessing the volume is dependent on the time of day and customer flow. I fell asleep, so it wasn't too loud! I used to come here a lot but switched to somewhere else that opened closer to my house. I was in the area on my Friday off, so I stopped by here again. There were no customers at all around 1 PM. There were, however, at least 4 employees laying on the massage chairs on their iPads and iPhones. No one acknowledged me when I walked in. They're advertising a "combo massage" with 30 min body + 30 min foot massage. The guys tried to sell that to me, and I said, no just the foot massage. He tried again. I finally got in a massage seat, and the massage started. I can hardly call it a massage, though, as the guy was so distracted that he was just mindlessly rubbing my face and arms. None of his movements seemed intentional, like a trained masseuse would use. It felt like I forced my 8 year old daughter to massage me, so weak and uninterested. He spent 10 minutes on one arm then 2 minutes on the other arm. When he switched to my feet, I noticed his hands felt weird. I took the towel off my face to see that he was massaging me with gloves.... Latex examination gloves! He was massaging so mindlessly that the gloves were rubbing me the wrong way. And he focused on one spot for so long that it felt super uncomfortable. Like my arms, he massaged one leg for 3 minutes then switched to my other leg for almost 10 minutes. After a while, I couldn't take it anymore. The massage felt so bad and uncomfortable that I mentioned that to him, blaming it on the gloves and not his massaging skills. I'm not sure he understood me, as there seemed to be a language barrier. I think he understood that I wanted him to take the gloves off, but he wouldn't. I finally just said that it was enough. He could tell I was unhappy with the massage but still charged me for it. It is $25 for a full one-hour foot massage. I left after 30 minutes but still got charged $15. It was also very noisy, coming from both inside and outside the establishment. There was a group of chatty ladies in the back, and you could hear their laughing and cackling all the way up in the front. read more

I was heavily disappointed by their massage and service. Technique was shoddy and the masseuses talked the entire time, even when I commented that it was too noisy. That massage felt so good... they start with the top of your head, then next is your temples. As the move on down to your arms, they massage your hands, shoulders, and fingers. I used to come here often but the last few attempts...the closing time was reflected differently on their website. They used to close at 10 pm now they close at 9 pm. My friend and I arrived at 7:45 pm and asked for the $25 foot massage which I used to get each time I visited in the past that included a 50 minute chair massage and about 10 minutes on the table for a total of 1 hour. After about 15 minutes, someone comes over and informs us that they can only take 1 of us for an hour or both for 30 minutes each. We arrived in plenty of time for us to get the advertised 1 hour foot massage reflexology for $25. We waited 30 minutes before we were taken back. During my wait, I noticed they are not changing the chair towels in between clients...only the towels they use to wash you feet and the actual towels they use during service but not the ones you lay on including the towel your head lays on when they do the head massage. Basically they are protecting the chairs and not concerned about sanitation between each customer. Any decent establishment would have accommodated us since we arrived much earlier prior to closing. It seemed like they were more concerned about getting out by 9 than on customer satisfaction. We agreed to the 30 minutes each for half the price $12.50 since it would only be 30 minutes each instead of 1 hour. They started on my friend first and then this guy starts on me about 10 minutes later which now chops my time to 20 minutes. This guy was a joke. Basically I paid to have lotion rubbed on my arms and legs. It was a worthless "lotion down" as he had no clue what he was doing...a monkey would have done a better job. He started on my face and top of my head...then moved to my arms...he never even attempted to touch my neck and shoulders so I asked about it...he quickly spent about 2 minutes touching my neck. The entire massage was the worst I've ever had...so inconsistent...he clearly was not trained. And after all of this...they tried to charge us $50 each for our massages...$100 for this? We ended up paying $25 each no tips were included but clearly they charged with the tip. We will never go back! There are all types of reflexology places around Houston much better than this place...totally disappointed! read more

I have been coming to Foot Spa for a year or so, and the massages are usually pretty good, depending on who you get. But the big problem today came when it was time to pay. Being that the foot massage was only 25.00, I handed the man who massaged me a tip just under 5.00. He took one look at the tip, yelled at me, and THREW my money back at me. Normally, I would give around (or over) a 5.00 tip, however, today my guy was exhaling cigarette breath into my face for the most of the massage, kept getting up, talking loudly on the phone, and not focusing on me. the first time i came here, the experience was ok but not memorable. this being my 2nd time (and I'm about 5 months pregnant) - I just had the WORST massage I've had in my life. like other reviewers have said, therapists don't seem formally trained at all, and there is constant whispering, laughing, and even SNORING. I got the combo (30 min foot and 30 min body), and every now and then, you would hear someone snore. I'd tried to ignore it, thinking it was a customer. the first part of my massage (scalp and foot) was ok, but the chair/back massage was a different story. right off the bat, someone already had a constant snore going. still thinking it was a customer, I tried to ignore it again, but after 15 mins, I couldn't relax at all.. it was one of those loud, vibrating, every-few-seconds snore that you hear from your dad/husband/brother. I lifted up my head to see what was going on and asked my therapist if they could wake the person up. it turned out that the one snoring was right next to my chair, AND he wasn't even a customer! he was an employee! or spouse of an employee (it was also clear that their families hung around the place, too, with kids in and out, walking around). my therapist just started giggling and kind of poked him a little. after a while he finally woke up. but that wasn't all.. the chair massage I received was definitely not worth the $. I could've asked my husband to give me a better massage at home for free. I get that a high level of pressure may not be allowed since I'm pregnant, but there was almost NO pressure at all, and the therapist didnt use lotion - so my back feels raw and is definitely red. it's cheap and cheap for a reason. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I am still debating going back in there to ask for my money back. massages are supposed to relax and calm you down, not the opposite. UPDATE: I forgot to mention that my 30 min foot / 30 min body massage (so, 1 hr total) was 10 mins short of an hour. in any case, I was charged $40 (as advertised on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper hanging on the wall when you walk in, though I recall it being only $25 before), but after writing the review above, I decided to go back in to see if i could get my money back or at least half - it was almost too easy! the guy behind the counter was actually the one snoring earlier, so maybe he knew what I was upset about or didn't want me to make a fuss with other customers there (though I did offer to have the conversation outside as to not distub them, but he didn't budge away from the counter). anyway, he gave me $20 back no problem. if I knew it was going to be that easy, I would've insisted in getting all of it back! I feel better and glad I went back, but I'm definitely never paying for a massage from this place again. read more
