This is the prettiest beach close to the historic center in Gijon. There is a beautiful promenade…read morethat hugs the beach from one end to the other and there are about 15 points of entry from the promenade down to the beach.
The area is all Non Smoking, which is great.... There are lots of benches, most of them with awnings to protect people from the sun. All the clocks in the promenade area worked and there were a few street performers and music performers around.
Even when I was there and I was wearing three layers (63F), there were people swimming in the ocean...some with bikinis, some with wet suits....
It's a great urban beach with lots of restaurants, ice cream shops and cafes, just across the street.
