Due to problems with my toe nails being so thick and arthritis making it almost impossible to bend over and cut the nails, I've been going to Food and Ankle Associates for probably 5 or 6 years. Originally with Dr. Shapiro in Mooresville and Huntersville but lately with his associate Dr. Francesca Zappadosi, I have always had good care. Covid has thrown a wrench into the whole picture. Back in March or April appointment, they called and we had to reschedule. Did get a appointment either one or two week later with another Doctor in the Service and the nails really needed trimming. Next appointment was three weeks ago and they called because we needed to reschedule because Dr. Zappadosi was not in the Mooresville office that day but rather was splitting her time with the Denver Office. Surprise because we were moving to Denver NC on July 14th. Waited to last week and made my appointment and after conflicts on my part, ended up scheduling for 1:45 pm PM today. Went for my appointment today. It's less than 5 minutes from my house. Walked in and receptionist was very professional and took my information and had me take a seat. Came back in a couple of minutes and took me back to a room. The Medical Assistant was Gwen who was the same Assistant Dr. Zappadosi had in Mooresville and she started immediately Took quick work of my nails and they desperately needed them and had become somewhat painful. Dr. Zappadosi came in with the finishing touches. Great service and I was in an out in a little over a half and hour. Definitely like these people. read more

Visited the Prosperity Road office back in late 2015 and was referred to the Denver office earlier this year. Staff has always been excellent and met Dr. Z for the first time yesterday. Highly recommended for those with chronic foot issues. read more

It did not matter whether we arrived early or on time, after the first appointment, we waited a minimum of 30-45 minutes to be seen. Our treatment is done, thankfully, though if we have to see a foot specialist again, we will not be coming back here. read more

Dr Kirby is AMAZING! I came in to get my big toe looked at since it was swollen and I was in such pain where it was very uncomfortable to walk or even sleep! Dr Kirby took one look at it, she knew exactly what was going on, described everything to me and made me feel very comfortable with the plan to get it healed. I went to Foot & Ankle in Mooresville for ankle surgery in 2010. Well I might need my other ankle done now and noticed they just opened this location in Denver, where I live. I called weeks ago to set up an appointment (I called this location specifically). Everything was fine the receptionist was very nice. I even called her back days later to give her my insurance. I thought everything was fine. Well come to find out today (2 days before my appointment) the receptionist made my appointment at the Mooresville location without asking or notifying me. I looked and it turns out this location is closed on Fridays (the day I made my appointment for), however, I was never informed. I've already taken off work and made plans for today and having to unexpectedly drive 45 minutes out of my way threw a wrench into my schedule. I would have been fine if I was informed 3 weeks ago when I made the appointment. Horrible communication skills. UPDATE: It is the day before my appointment and they just called to cancel my appointment because the doctor will be out of the office and they have no other doctor to fill in for the morning... I guess I'll never find out if I need surgery. I recommend not wasting your time and just call another doctors office. read more
