It was getting late and and we needed to find something to eat. Most restaurants are closed here after 10:00pm, so Food Lion was our only option. Thankfully, they had lots of high quality prepared food items for sale . We picked up some take-away wings, potato salad, and a chicken pasta salad, all tasting really good. Bottom Line: Better than your average Food Lion and prices are lower than near by Harris Teeter. In general, grocery prices in the Outer Banks are likely going to be higher than at home but this Food Lion is more reasonable than the nearby Harris Teeter. And although this Food Lion isn't as beautiful as Harris Teeter, I do find it to be clean and sensibly organized. What I appreciate about this Food Lion is the make-your-own-six-pack of beer. They don't have the most robust selection but I can usually find enough of a variety to round out my six pack. This Food Lion is located on the northbound side of Hwy 158 in Kill Devil Hills around the 9.5 MP. read more

This Food Lion is very well stocked, very clean, and the store associates are friendly. I always find what I need at this store. The prices are cheaper than Publix and Harris Teeter. The store is much larger than the Food Lion in Richmond Va, but it could use a face lift. The store is a bit dated. They have a nice meat and seafood section, but I typically do not buy steaks at Food Lion. If they had more of a butcher display setup with thicker cuts of meat, I probably would. I think Harris Teeter's butcher setup is the way to go! I don't care for the prepackaged steaks that are hard to see because they are covered with stickers and labels. read more

This is probably the better of the Food Lions in the Outer Banks. Better stocked, central location, and huge selection on the inside. What I wasn't able to find at other nearby grocery stores I was able to find in a breeze here. The only thing that I find offsetting here is the way some of the employees approach a situation. Particularly the ones that run the registers. To say that my interaction with the young lady behind the counter was awkward is an understatement. I found what I needed here, but I've been to better locations. This store felt small and not as well-stocked as others I have visited. The cashier was very friendly, but the individual bagging the groceries basically ignored us. The store itself could probably use some updates. read more

The employees are helpful and kind, but they are NOT prioritizing wearing masks. Most employees are handling food and walking around with their masks on improperly below their noses. Quite frankly, this business should be shut down if the employees cannot properly wear face coverings that are necessary right now to keep everyone safe. read more

Store is always dirty looking, and junky. Today, as usual, only two registers open, no matter how long the lines. We live within walkibg distance but prefer 10.5 store or Southern Shores. Clerks tend to be rushed, and some are snappy, i imagine because they are rushed and understaffed. And our friends who come for vacation notice same thing. Can you find everything you need here... well you can find something but not exact items. I was looking for bread for French Toast. They had no Challah bread so I asked 4 employees which bread they would recommend. They each replied Texas Toast but it turns out they do not carry it. Was also looking for Vigo Yellow Rice (BEST Yellow Rice EVER) but they didn't have it. It's a staple food item in NYC. But we found everything else we needed. read more

No problem with this store except the wait. They rarely seem to have enough registers open. There's even a line during off hours. They should really install a self check out- then I'd give it a 5/5! read more
