What a cool spot! My friend (and fellow Yelp Eliter) Aya R. and I came up to New Hampshire to check out some sugar houses and we had a great time. Folsom's was one of the top spots. Absolutely loved Folsom's. The place is full of character and was clearly built with charisma and a passion for maple. One of the owners showed us around. We saw a tapped tree, the boiler, and a bunch of tools used to make the maple products. The surrounding area is really beautiful just to be out in nature. Amazing maple syrup made the old fashion way. They have several options and offered shipping to my Florida home.

Look at this cute sugarhouse? It is the cutest thing. I love to visit farms and now only buy maple syrup in sugarhouse. It was my last day in New Hampshire and Maine and had forgot to get some maple syrup. This trip I have gotten maple syrup from Vermont, Maine and and missing New Hampshire. So searched in Google to which farm is closest to Portmouth and has hours of operation. I found Folsom and gave a call to confirm that they are open. It is not necessarily on the way from Portsmouth and back to NY, but I nagged my husband to get there. It was a 45 mins from Portsmouth and u big detour to get back home. A gentleman, which I should've ask for his name, came put of his house to greet us from his sugarhouse. Apparently he lives across the street from his sugarhouse which I thought was so cool. Coming from NY city this was new to me. He let me to his store which is behind the factory? I think that's where he makes his syrups. Than the little cute room displaying all his maple things. It was so neatly presented. I love this place. If you plan to visit and get some local maple products, check their website and look online. Looks like they have the website updated and it helped me get to them. If you are in doubt, give him a call and he will greet you at the door when you get there. Cute sugar shack conveniently located in Chester. It's on a residential road, but it looks and feels like a business when you drive up with parking for a few cars. The business owner(s) are willing to explain their products in the off-season since production is only in the spring. They have a room where the maple syrup is processed and a room where you can purchase products. It's all very cute and clean. We certainly will come back in the spring to check out the process and try samples. It's easy to see that the owners are very proud of their process and their facility. The shop only has maple syrup products, it is not a country store. If you are only going there to purchase something it will be a very quick trip as the store portion of the building is a small holding room. Can't wait to come back during maple season ! Bonus: the sugar house is dog-friendly and we were allowed to bring our two husky puppies into the sugar house when buying some syrup. I imagine this is not allowed when syrup is actually being made for safety reasons. read more

FANTASTIC PRODUCT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have NEVER tasted a better Maple Candy in your life !!!!! I promise you... They are VELVETY smooth, and OH soooooooo mapley :) Not grainy at all... AND the Maple Cream I don't think it could be any better, maybe I died and went to heaven :) Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm GOOD !! You can just taste the CARE and QUALITY that these people have put into their products ! AND They also use glass so the maple doesn't pick up that plasticy taste... This is a lovely little operation. The maple syrup is fresh. They have a little store that has all kinds of maple products. I always get my kids maple candy and maple drops when I go there. They also have maple mustards, maple bricks, maple cream, maple sugar and more. The owner is always very nice and happy to answer questions. read more

What a beautiful and quaint facility. The owner is a down to earth New Hampshirite. If you're looking for fresh maple syrup or maple sugar candy, this is the place to come.
