It's located in an indoor shopping strip and is accessible from the street as well. The prices are fairly decent and you should be able to grab whatever you need, whether it's normal groceries or a snack for the road. The store is fairly clean and is kept stocked. It's quiet and offers a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the town. Bring your own bags as they don't have them. The self-checkout machines are easy to use but are a little slow when giving change.

On a whirlwind 2 week vacation to Ireland, the girlfriend & I tried to see & experience absolutely as much of this incredible land as we could. We did not accomplish every last activity we wished we could have on our rather ambitious itinerary. Nonetheless, we did discover a land of numerous stunning & magical wonders. We did see a land of unending natural beauty. We did learn of a land with a monumentally long history of trials, tragedies & triumphs. We did get to meet many kind, humorous, warm & generous people. Our vacation to Ireland was just 2 weeks, but that was time enough to know this is a land easy to love & a land to be sorely missed. Having eaten every single meal out at some restaurant since arriving in Ireland a few days earlier, the girlfriend & I needed a break from both the elevated calories & price tag of eating out constantly. Hidden inside the same shopping arcade as our new breakfast spot in Killarney was a Tesco. Simple groceries sounded like the relief we needed. We shopped at this Tesco a few times while we were in town & found both the selection of goods & prices to be good. This Tesco was very helpful in keeping our arteries from hardening too quickly & the slowing the frantic pace in which the €'s had been departing our wallets.

Hadn't even heard of this Caitriona Daunt and Willie Doherty outfit before but those dates and figs were delicious. They do a whole range of fruits and veg and will deliver boxes to your door in Cork city and surrounds. JOHN MARTIN'S HONEY The Bee Knees…read moreI like the occasional jar of honey. Picked one up recently made by John Martin of Dunmanway. It has a very enjoyable caramel like taste and a modest pleasing aroma; it is clear and full bodied, with a thick consistency. It tastes great on its own (as a treat or maybe to ease a sore throat, any excuse really) but obviously may be used as a spread or drizzle. Someone has suggested using it on porridge, so we'll try that. It doesn't come cheap, costing well over a fiver for a 340gm jar and I bought mine at the Nash 19 Food Shop (attached to the well known restaurant in Prince's Street)

BAKING EMPORIUM Dunmanway's small scale Baking Emporium…read moremakes a variety of cakes, breads, confectionery, muesli and seed breads. So do other bakeries. So what is different about Dunmanway? I put it to the taste recently when I bought some of their stuff in the city. My choice was Emmental Cheese and Pumkmkin Seeded bread. Loved it and will be buying more, for sure. This is organic seed bread and the range has won awards. They make four Wheat varieties and two Spelt varieties. They say it is a delicious crunchy alternative to normal bread and I agree. But relish or bellish, I have no argument. Got some of their slow cooked red onion relish when I visited their stall recently and it sure went very well with some cheese I had to hand. But Conall Breheny's West Cork outfit have quite a range and are well regarded and some of their products have figured on national award lists in recent years.
