The gluten free vegan soy free bread is so delicious hubby and I finished a loaf in a day and a half! From pb and bananas for breakfast to avocado BLTs for lunch, delicious! Pizza dough that tastes and smells and bends like pizza dough! I have tried other gluten-free bakeries, gluten-free from health shops and making my own. You can also special order gluten free cakes :) You can order products through the website and there is a weekly pickup where you drive down to the bakery in DDO and pick up your order for the week. It did not disappoint, as i pulled into the parking there was a lady eating a baguette right out of the bag so i asked if it was good, delicious she said and she did not lie. I saw the spring rolls, haven't had one in decades so I figured why not. The box says new look which usually means improved so i cannot even begin to imagine what the previous looked like. I baked them in the oven exactly as instructed and when i open the door half way through to flip them they were split open and falling apart. I have rarely been so disappointed in a product before. At $9 for 4 rolls I expected something decent and these were not, far from it. Save your hard earned money they are definitely not worth it.

I don't have a gluten allergy, but my travel companion does, and we ended up coming here every morning during our stay in Montréal. The croissants are incredibly buttery (made with margarine, so they're dairy-free too), light, and perfectly flaky. We also tried a few other pastries like the chocolatine and danishes, which were just as delicious. They sell their pastries frozen as well, and I bought half a dozen croissants to bring back home. I tasted so many things and as I sit here in the airport I am eating my final treat, a croissant sandwich with smoked salmon and a variety of fixings. When I find really good food I often forget to take pictures because of how fixated I am on enjoying it. This is one of those times. No pictures, only memories. My husband can eat gluten and he was delighted with everything we tried. This is a must visit bakery in old town Montreal.

The Long Version: My husband and I were driving from Ottawa to Laval and stopped by this bakery to grab a snack. Everything looked delicious, but we settled on a raspberry cannolo and a chocolate lobster tail pastry. They were $5.95 each. The raspberry cannolo was tasty. The shell was crunchy and the filling was a ricotta cheese filling with raspberries. The lobster tail pastry was even more delicious. One end was dipped in chocolate and crushed hazelnuts. The pastry was rich and flakey and the filling was a creamy chocolatey custard. The lobster tail pastry was larger and I feel it was more bang for our buck. They had lots of pastries including Napoleons and croissants. I had a chuckle when I saw that they had the French-Canadian pastry called Pets de Soeur because it translates to Nun's Farts. Lol. It's spiraled pie dough with butter and sugar. I'm actually not a fan of the taste, but I find the name hilarious. Anyway, they also have breads and pizzas, as well as savoury items like Arancini and Calzones. Staff were pleasant. I would love to return to try other items. They have free parking on-site.
