My mother-in-law whose family settled in the town in the early 19th century, remembers as a child when women would bring their wool to be "carded" here in order to then make their own blankets, socks, and sweaters for their family. Many of the same carding machines are still be used at the factory upstairs to make gorgeous, super warm blankets, pillows, throws and sweaters using locally-sourced wool. The blankets are particularly amazing. They come is all different patterns and shades and are beyond warm. I've gifted at least a half dozen of them and own one that multi-tasks as an indoor cape, throw when cozying up on the couch, an extra blanket for my son's bed in winter, and when it's ridiculous cold and I'm safe from mocking regards, even a giant skirt that I wrap around from my waist to ankles. Not the sexiest look, but it gets the job done! They also have a small range of capes made from the local wool that are actually chic. In my dreams they'd work with some hip designer to expand the collection and offer up a whole range of elegant wearable blankets and wraps.

Dejé un tostador en la caja y le dije a un dependiente que regresaba con otro pequeño electrodoméstico. Regresé y fui a pagar pero el joven que me había atendido no estaba. Había otro que no me quiso cobrar y de malas maneras me mandó a otra caja en la que había una enorme cola. Me fui sin comprar. Luego se quejan de que compramos en Amazon pero no queda otra para no aguantar malos modales. Intento apoyar el comercio local, incluso siendo más caro, pero ya es una tarea cuesta arriba.

What is pleasing about Intermarché supermarkets in general is that they are able to offer truly local products, and this applies especially in the Condom branch. Here you'll find wonderful local wines, armagnac, and floc (a fortified wine made as an offshoot from the armagnac distilling process), as well as local eggs, poultry, foie gras, and so on. There is an in-store bakery. The store is clean, well-lit and well-stocked, including a decent selection of hardware and ironmongery for a store of this medium size. There is also a petrol station with fuel at the best prices around, and opposite the store is a Weldom DIY store. Car parking is a little tight, but this is no more than a minor inconvenience. Recommended highly.
