I was here last week for a makeover, styling & photoshoot day out that I bought back in June. I'll be honest and say I was a little nervous at the thought of posing in front of the camera and how the pictures will come out but the team were so friendly and welcoming I was put at ease all throughout the whole session. The studio itself is just a short walk from shoreditch station, although it took a bit of nagivating to find I was there within a minutes walk from the station.
I was greeted with a genuine smile and helped through the studio set with my luggage and taken into the lounge and makeup area, sat down and offered a glass of champagne (why not!?) and went through a consultation on my makeover, photography and retouching preferences. The place itself is small and elegantly decorated and well maintained and gives the place a nice and 'homely' feel. The make up artist, Dee (?) was really lovely, did a great job with my hair and makeup and made me look absolutely amazing! I went for the whole 50's pin up look and it was spot on, she really knew what she was doing and used professional make up products from MAC and Bobbi Brown. The makeover itself took around an hour and I didnt feel rushed at all. I was then greeted by my photographer and we went through my outfits and accessories that I bought along and some styling options. I was guided through the poses and different backdrops (loved the chaise lounge!) to match my outfits and accessories, the whole photoshoot was fun and the photographer really knew what he was doing, even towards the end there were some slightly more 'risque' shots but all my nerves were put at ease by then. I love how the studio only serves one person at a time and the whole team were there just to serve me during my photoshoot and not rushing around with other clients in the building, they really do mean it when they say they personalise every session to each client and I really felt like I was being treated special, and not part of a herd of sheep of clients on a conveyor belt like some others studios do. I think they only do 4 clients a day maximum. I had the 4pm slot which lasted until just over 7 o clock in the evening.
I came back to view my pictures a week after my photoshoot, in this time they get the images edited and touched up. I was taken into the viewing room where I was first presented with a nice musical slideshow of my entire session which was a nice touch, and then shown each picture individually, there were about 70 of them. I was honestly blown away by the quality of the images and never expected them to look as amazing as they came out, especially when I never considered myself photogenic. I was given the option to purchase any images or prints, they also do albums and large framed photos. At £70 starting price I thought I could only afford a few, but I had a genuinely hard time narrowing them down as I loved every single one of them! I was given the option of purchasing packages as the more images I buy the cheaper they'd become. I've heard some horror stories about hard sales in studios but honestly I didn't feel pushed into buying anything at all, the guy showing me my images told me he wasn't trying to push a sale as they rely on the quality of their pictures to sell themselves and I can honestly say the quality of their work did just that. You really get an appreciation of all the effort they put into making your pictures look amazing and giving you that bit of confidence in yourself, the end result really looked like they can go straight onto the cover of Vogue and are genuinely on par with magazine quality. I never felt pushed into buying anything even though I told them I the budget I had in mind. I was offered generous incentives to increase my budget slightly, but I never felt pushed at all. In the end we managed to negotiate something that we were happy to go ahead with and the images were given to me on the day. All in all I had a fantastic day out with such a lovely small team and some great shots to cherish! I would highly recommend this place over some others I've been to by far! read more
