Entering the co-working space from the elevator lobby, I was immediately impressed by the brightness from the floor-to-ceiling windows, the coffee and beverage bar to the left, and the sea of work spaces. Dharma, who checked us in, was very kind and engaging, and throughout the day, offered kind assistance and answered questions. I visited on a guest pass provided by my daughter who purchased one of the membership plans. Planning on a full workday, I brought my lunch and put it in the fridge, found an open desk, and plugged in my laptop. When I needed to join a video call, I found an available small room labeled "Phone". About six of them are located in the area. White noise helped my focus, but I admit, when I looked up and turned toward the windows, the beautiful views (mountains in the distance) distracted me. The bathrooms are clean. If you need coffee, espresso, drip, and iced coffee are provided. If you want a few more espresso choices, the lobby has a great family-owned and affordable espresso bar. When I visit Winston-Salem again on a work day, I'd enjoy returning to Flywheel. read more

This space is very bright, welcoming, and perfect to use for short-term and long-term office work. It had everything I needed for my visit (reliable internet, available phone rooms, refreshments, printer/paper area). I didn't need to use a meeting room but I'm sure they are equally as good as the phone rooms. There was also plenty of comfy seating throughout Flywheel's space and the bathrooms also had a few toiletries to spare. I am in town for the holidays and didn't want to be at home with relatives. Dania is the community coordinator for this space and she has been very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Overall I would recommend this place and would not hesitate to book another day pass. FYI: At the time of writing this review (12/12/22) the pin location for directions on Yelp and Apple Maps is incorrect. However the address listed in yelp (500 W. 5th) is correct. If you're looking for this place and find yourself near a small park (Bailey Park) you're in the wrong area/former location. read more

I attended the Handmade by HER workshop from InnovateHER this afternoon at Flywheel. It was such a great workshop! All of the speakers had so much knowledge to impart on us. It was incredible to be around so many talented, driven, and strong women! It really is such a gorgeous space. I love the modern decor. We met in a small conference room. There were quite a few of us but it was not overly crowded or cramped. The seating was comfortable and we had adequate work space. There were only two other people in the building working, that we saw while we were there. They have couches upfront, desks in the middle, conference rooms, and also single offices. The enclosed glass telephone booths were really cool too. Parking was kind of tricky as they had portions of the road closed off but i think if they had been open it would not of been an issue. This really is a nice space for working or meeting. I had no idea it was there previously but I'm glad I got to visit. read more

What an awesome venue! Spent a night of spooky-ness and fun for a yelp event last week and had a blast. That looks like an amazing environment to work in, I told my husband he should see if they are hiring in the near future. Like a local Google office or something along those lines. Came here for a recent event and was impressed by the space, location, and energy the Flywheel provided. Located in downtown Winston Salem in a new "innovation" section I think this will be a hit once more businesses, students, and freelancers start using the nearby facilities. It is walking distance to Bailey Park, which is a nice little place to eat lunch or drink a cup of coffee. Also next to the Forsyth Tech Center, a small YMCA gym, and apart of the new Wake Forest Baptist Health building. Hopefully they will offer some more "open-house" type events to get more people to check out the space. read more

This space has great energy, is professionally equipped, and has great amenities. If you're a freelancer or entrepreneur this is the place to go in Winston-Salem. It's in the heart of a thriving innovation community. read more
