If you are in need of residential HVAC services, I highly recommend Frederick Plumbing, Heating &…read moreAir Conditioning. They invested a solid eight hours in this project today, replacing a 35-year-old unit that definitely put in its life's worth of work. This is the second replacement HVAC system Chris Highfill has orchestrated in my nearly 100 year old College Hill home. This old casa needs two big zoned units to keep everybody comfy. The new Trane system is huge, efficient and is right as rain. I couldn't be happier. Shout out to the Frederick crew who had to navigate two floors of steep staircases while taking out the old and putting in the new. Chris' guys are incredibly skilled and great to deal with.

But they do not say how much.....it was way over $100 just for the estimate and the estimate was nearly $6000.00 for the whole job. I priced out the cost of the materials and it was less than $500 retail. That makes the job $5500. Too much in my opinion...way too much. I appreciate the skills it takes to be an electrician, but some others do free estimates and give a reasonable price. Follow up, I found another very good company to do the work for $1400. They did very good work. That is $4600 cheaper than Young.

He seriously looks out for you, thinks ahead to future problems, and doesn't do a job half way. I always learn a lot when he comes to our house. First, their rep Kevin was awesome! On time, friendly and professional...nothing but good things to…read moresay about him personally - an excellent employee. The only reason this is not a perfect review was the disconnect between the quote and the final bill, I was told by an office employee when we scheduled the work that the blower motor could be as low as $200 (and online it was readily available between $150 and $200 delivered so this seemed in line), but final part charge was about $650 (over $750 total with labor). Sure they have to pick it up locally, and the middleman parts supplier needs to make a profit, but quadrupling a $175 part price seems like nothing short of gouging. If you decide to hire this company, my advice is to get a written estimate before you commit to doing the work, And maybe get a comparison while you're at it.
