Because of the cool lock and safety system, it's really impossible to mess it up (unless you just totally don't clip in at all) and so easy to use and slide along from obstacle to obstacle. There was a group about to leave that we could join so it worked perfectly. We filled out the wavers and also rented a Go Pro for our helmet. After that, we got our harness from our two guides. The two guides we had were amazing and so informative and the kept us entertained the entire time. They actually made the experience fun for us. For 80 per person, you get to ride six different lines that range in height, distance, and speed. Before every ride, the guides give safety tips and the best way to enjoy the ride. For a first-time rider, I'm so glad I was in the hands of Canopy Ridge I felt safe and I was never unsure on every line. It also involves some hiking but only a few steps. We enjoyed being in Nature and the weather was perfect. If you are ever in the area of Canopy Ridge Farm is a must.

It had a coupon for $12 off!! We called on Tuesday night about 7:45 (they closed at 9) and talked to Teresa who was able to schedule our foursome for a trip at 2:00 on Wednesday. She was so helpful and gave us some tips for travel to Hartford. Once we got there we checked in with a very competent and thorough young lady. We took a short bus ride to the "put in" point. On the 10 minute ride some of the guides performed fun comedic routines which kept us from thinking about how hot we were on a bus with no AC ( except open windows), decked out in life jackets and helmets while holding our paddles upright. :-) We got paired with a river rafting guide named Brantley. He gave us great paddling instructions before we even entered the raft. Since we had all been river rafting before, he explained that the trick to having a more exciting trip is to synchronize your paddle strokes. We had a great time with Brantley. We truly appreciate his concern for our "fun factor" and especially our safe trip down the river.

The cabins are well designed, updated, and clean. There are tons of activities to do there - we did the zipline, the giant swing (UH mazing!), kayaks, and paddle boats. The staff was helpful and friendly. We also did the hike around the lake which was well laid out and had tons of wildlife along the way - especially turtles! We hiked to a pretty waterfall off of the trail and the whole walk was easy enough for our 5 year-old to do. There are gazebos along the lake to sit and relax and look out over the lake. From what I understand, there is even more to do in the summer! (Slopstical course in the mud looked fun but wasn't open yet for the season) Overall, this is a great place to take a group!

The obstacle course was fun and challenging, we were entertained the full 2 hours and the kids loved the independent nature of it. There were plenty of courses and we didn't even finish them all so it will keep you busy the full 2 hours. I was actually scared a couple of times and was shocked how brave my kids were. The set up is extremely safe thanks to a unique two smart buckle feature (it has a safety feature where you cannot unbuckle one of the buckles until the other buckle is on the wire, so you always have one buckle safely attached to catch you. Great because even distracted kids can't screw it up. Definitely worth it.

Getting combo tickets, we started with the treetop glow trail on their high ropes course. Next, we visited a market of kid makers. Afterwards, we walked their story-walk trail about Jack Frost. The trail includes stops and actors. My eight-year-old daughter loved it! What a fun seasonal experience!
