Our favorite course was the zip line course, as it goes the highest into the trees and has the most speed for the thrill seekers :) The workers were helpful when needed, but mostly hands off otherwise. Because of the cool lock and safety system, it's really impossible to mess it up (unless you just totally don't clip in at all) and so easy to use and slide along from obstacle to obstacle. (see pics) We stayed for about 3 hours and enjoyed every bit of it! There was a group about to leave that we could join so it worked perfectly. We filled out the wavers and also rented a Go Pro for our helmet. After that, we got our harness from our two guides. The two guides we had were amazing and so informative and the kept us entertained the entire time. They actually made the experience fun for us. For 80 per person, you get to ride six different lines that range in height, distance, and speed. Before every ride, the guides give safety tips and the best way to enjoy the ride. For a first-time rider, I'm so glad I was in the hands of Canopy Ridge I felt safe and I was never unsure on every line. It also involves some hiking but only a few steps. We enjoyed being in Nature and the weather was perfect. If you are ever in the area of Canopy Ridge Farm is a must.

The class II and III rapids were the perfect size for us. It was slightly challenging in a few places but nothing terribly difficult. It was absolutely exhilarating! Our guide Eric was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and really seemed to know the river very well. We all felt really lucky to have him as a guide. After watching a few other color rafts/companies get stuck continuously, we knew we chose the right people for this adventure. 10/10 will definitely be back again. It had a coupon for $12 off!! We called on Tuesday night about 7:45 (they closed at 9) and talked to Teresa who was able to schedule our foursome for a trip at 2:00 on Wednesday. She was so helpful and gave us some tips for travel to Hartford. Once we got there we checked in with a very competent and thorough young lady. We took a short bus ride to the "put in" point. On the 10 minute ride some of the guides performed fun comedic routines which kept us from thinking about how hot we were on a bus with no AC ( except open windows), decked out in life jackets and helmets while holding our paddles upright. :-) We got paired with a river rafting guide named Brantley. He gave us great paddling instructions before we even entered the raft. Since we had all been river rafting before, he explained that the trick to having a more exciting trip is to synchronize your paddle strokes. We had a great time with Brantley. We truly appreciate his concern for our "fun factor" and especially our safe trip down the river.

We hiked to a pretty waterfall off of the trail and the whole walk was easy enough for our 5 year-old to do. There are gazebos along the lake to sit and relax and look out over the lake. Getting combo tickets, we started with the treetop glow trail on their high ropes course. Next, we visited a market of kid makers. Afterwards, we walked their story-walk trail about Jack Frost. The trail includes stops and actors. My eight-year-old daughter loved it! What a fun seasonal experience!

This was my first time doing a rope…read morecourse so I was hesitant but the instructions are very thorough and they make you practice with the locking mechanisms which I appreciated. Each team member was very nice and personable. The overall time limit group was 30 people and it was a good size that it let everyone spread out on the courses. My friend and I wanted to jump straight to the Black course, which is the hardest one, but they require you to do Yellow first as a warm-up. Which I'm glad they did because it was fun and challenging. There's always a team member around supervising in case you get stuck or need a hint on how to approach a course. Overall, a really great time and would definitely come again to try more of the levels.
