Staff are alway welcoming and ready to point out something suitable if you need assistance. Instead there are lots of higher-end stores ranging from designer clothing to designer cosmetics and designer gadgets. Actually, it's not all second-mortgage shopping here - there are some 'normal' shops too, they're just a bit nicer than most high street equivalents. There are oodles of places to get a snack on the way round, like Starbucks etc. and there is a giant foodhall with choices for the discerning and not so discerning among you. On that note, a trip to Bluewater isn't complete without a trip to Ed's Diner - have one of their awesome burgers and a spectacular milkshake to find out why. Just make sure you eat when you're finished shopping though as you will just about be able to stagger to your car afterwards with the feeling in your belly. If you go at Christmas there are some superb lights outside as you approach the car parks - giant deers are among the best ones, but be warned, it can get super busy there too. Ample parking means it's not such a chore to go and the whole place is big enough that you don't feel crammed in - it's akin to a lot of the big malls in the States, and one of the best shopping trips (if there is such a thing) you can make in this country.

It can get a bit messy in this store at weekends and busy periods. There are plenty of changing rooms (found on the mezzanine floor at the back of the shop), though these are often quite tatty. Each time I have been in the store I have had to queue for quite a while, even though there are a lots of tills open.

River Islands range of clothing is great. They sell a great range of ladies clothes, also boots and shoes and a great range of accessories, i.e. handbags, belts, purses. You never have to line up for long to pay for your goods. The tills are always open and you get serve really quickly. Its very easy to walk around the store because it is very spacious with lots of space, which is ideal if you have a little un'. The changing rooms are really good. Nice and light and very big inside, which makes changing a much nicer experience. The worst part about the store is you can sometimes be waiting along time to get served, especially on a weekend.

It stocks a very wide range of baby products, clothes, nappies, milk, toys, maternity wear and furniture. Their choice of pushchairs are excellent. The floor staff are very helpful and friendly when you ask for advice. However, I find the queues slow and you can end up waiting for a while to be served (even if you are next in the queue!). I found the wait difficult when I was heavily pregant and I am suprised in a store like this that they do not have more tills. They have baby feeding and changing facilities but I have not used these so cannot comment on them.

The quality of the clothes is not as good as many other high street stores and the prices reflect this. Whenever I have purchased jeans from here, I have always had a problem with the zip coming down and many of the tops are too small in the shoulder areas.

The changing rooms are a nice size, with plenty of room to move around. The rooms are always manned and if you need another size you can ring the buzzer and somebody comes straight away to asssist. The store is nicely set up and well presented, which makes it easy to find to find what your looking for. My sister bought most of her maternity clothing from Dorothy Perkins and really rated the quality. You can find Dorothy Perkins right by the food court.
