My chiropractor wasn't happy with how tense my upper back (specifically my traps) were. She asked if I had ever done dry needling (I hadn't), and she recommended I check out Vitality. I've tried acupuncture before, despite my fear of needles, so I figured it would be somewhat similar and I could give it a try. It was easy to make an appointment through their website. You fill out a very detailed intake form to share your background and the reason for your visit. The first appointment was an hour long. Dr. Anders Broussard is personable, attentive, and professional. She noticed my limited range of motion when I turned my neck sideways. She did dry needling only on one side to start and showed me some exercises I could do to continue improving in between appointments. She also gave me the ball and band for me to take home. They send you an email with videos using a PhysiApp so that's helpful as a reference as well. Dry needling was definitely uncomfortable in the moment, it's an odd sensation when your muscle tenses up around the needle, but it's manageable with deep breathing and distracting conversation. Turns out the needle goes even deeper than in acupuncture. Thankfully I don't ever see the needle so I don't psych myself out. The spot was tender and sore for a couple of days but then my range of motion was SO much better! I was blown away by how much it improved. They don't take insurance, but usually they have a discount on their website (I paid $110) and they do have packages to make it more affordable. Following appointments for me are 30 mins and about $90. It is SO worth it when you see such improvement and results. Highly recommend!

I just wanted some peace and quiet and down time while the masseuse did her thing. However, before the massage began she felt the need to inform me that she was upset because she had just broken up with her boyfriend etc etc. this immediately made me start rethinking the entire thing. Instead of the relaxed experience I'd been looking forward to, I felt the need to comfort her and play therapist for an hour. I did not leave feeling relaxed. For my birthday this year, a friend presented me with a gift card for this spa and I decided to give it another shot. I went in on March 13, my appointment was scheduled for 4pm with Dakoda. He'd be giving me a deep tissue massage. During the foot soak he asked me some basic questions like the amount pressure I wanted applied and where I wanted most of the focus; which was of course my neck and shoulders. Dakoda was AMAZING! So professional and kind. I never felt at risk of being exposed or uncomfortable. He ensured the sheet kept my lady parts completely covered and he was very gentle when handling/moving my limbs to adjust. He focused heavily on my neck and shoulders and back as requested and I could feel the tension melting away. He should have those hands insured! There was no unnecessary chitchat, which I appreciated as an introvert. He's the only person I want massaging me. I am looking forward to booking with him again. I just cannot compliment him enough. All of the amenities at this spa are really nice and it's a very calm and tranquil environment. I am so glad I gave it another chance. Dakoda rescued my view/opinion of Spa Lux!
