I also kept getting these add on charges with no explanation of what they were for. Stay away from this company. I was on auto pay and cancelled by phone; if they continue to charge me I will report it to the Florida insurance commissioner. Stay away from them; they cannot be trusted.

Last year during our yearly renewal our mortgage company received our money to pay for the ins. on our property but the homeowners ins. never sent a bill to the proper place so they could not get paid until bill was sent. So upon receiving several notices stating they were cancelling our policy to our home, even though we paid the entire bill. So of course being in the state of Fla. you DO NOT want your policy to lapse. So this being our home took care of it right away, never heard anything from our agent even though they were getting same said notice's and were paid a fee . So this year even though we took care of the situation last year to our surprise it happens again this year. When we received the notice of non payment and cancellation we contacted the mortgage company and the homeowners insurance at the same time 3-way phone. TO our surprise we still get cancelled because after the 3-way call the insurance company still billed to the wrong address and did not receive payment , Upset does not even begin to explain how we feel that we are sitting here cancelled , I immediately get on the phone at start calling all parties involved FIX it all. However at some point of our 5 hours of phone craziness with a home phone on one ear and my cell on the other being disconnected passed around I am wondering how? When we paid it .... Well finally a fantastic informed person from one of these companies helps to fix it all. I find myself asking a very good question why are you making these calls you have an Insurance Agent that is listed on your paperwork? I see here that you dealt with this last year and this year and THE AGENT received all notices of your policy being cancelled . We have not heard or received anything in any form from that agency. I am so glad they told me that because we would not have known it because other than them getting paid you would not known.. I decided to ask or at least inform myself as to what exactly was the agent getting paid to do . I called the agency Mr.Sharkey was NOT available as you would expect. I asked the woman who answered what her position was she stated agent. I asked her to pull up our account she did... I told her that we were cancelled and that they had received notices all along and why did they NOT contact us? She then said well sometimes, I cut her off and said oh not you received said notices then after her trying to shove off there responsibility I said I took care of it all several times for entire days so I want the owner to call me with an apology for scanning according to her all notices of cancellation putting them into there computer system then NEVER addressing them in anyway... So my so called AGENT never calls me to which is so professional so I call them after hrs of waiting to which when he gets on the phone tells me that if I call his office ever again YELLING he will call the police on me and have me arrested. So if you want your homeowners ins. cancelled and pay Sharkey Ins. to threaten you hire them. Thank god I handled my own and fixed all of it and my home is covered and insured. But he was paid to do absolutely nothing and paid to never take a professional stand. If you heard the things that this agent owner stated to me it was like I hired some guy at the bus station to watch over my home and I just don't want anyone to go through what we have. I was told the agents were all on other calls but someone would get back to me shortly with a quote. 2 days later, on Wednesday, I still hadn't heard from anyone. I called back and told them I had been waiting since Monday for someone to return my call to give me a quote. They asked my name, put me on hold and then told me the agent they had given my info to was still working on it and would get a hold of me soon. By the end of the day Thursday, after waiting for 4 days, still no call back. I finally called someone else and they had a quote in my e mail within about 20 minutes. It must be nice to be so busy and rolling in so much money you can just blow people off. BTW, I currently own 7 homes in Michigan, 6 cars and 4 ATV's, all of which are insured. I also have a 2 million dollar umbrella policy and a business policy and am moving to Florida. BIG HUGE COSTLY mistake blowing me off.
