I recently went back because of the permanent, inside wires became loose and had to have it reglued. I was upset that they were not transparent with their pricing. I was told a certain price over the phone and they said I could decide whether to move forward with the process or not, but when they took me in and the Orthodontist had already reviewed my mouth and the broken piece, at that point, I was charged for the consultation and could not go back. I wish I had known that it would be $240 to repair, I would have checked somewhere else first.

I had a harder case than usual bc I had an underbite, and they really worked with me on my wants and they made it happen, which can be a bit tougher since I'm an adult patient (who didn't want to get surgery). It's a very positive environment. Everyone is super nice. Pearl was so kind to me and we've built a bond since I started coming to Nelson's. Sweetest person ever! After two family members completed braces with this business I made a pragmatic decision to send my…read moretwo other kids to a different orthodontist. This decision wasn't based on quality of work. Orthadontia isn't heart surgery and you're likely to get the same great results no matter who you end up using. The outcomes met expectations. What is dodgy are their billing practices, aggressive pressure to get your kids into "two-stage" braces (basically paying for braces twice), and repeated sales calls trying to get your other kids into braces asap was all just too much... Oh and don't get me started with their billing department consistently trying to bill our insurance company even though they already hit the payment limit long ago. Don't they realize that I get an email from my insurance company every time someone tries to bill against the insurance? My other kids have braces now from a different Orthodontist. Surprisingly the new orthodontist said "two stage" wasn't applicable in their cases. Tip - If your orthodontist pressures you into two-stage braces from day one get a second opinion. Two-stage braces should be the exception, but more and more orthodontist groups are making it the default recommendation.

If you have questions they will seek to answer them. If your child is unsure, they will talk and explain the procedure patiently. This location has a laser so that helps with recovery and avoiding numbing and child can have lunch directly afterwards, no waiting. They give your child a reusable gift bag with toothbrush and toothpaste and stuffy in it. And your child can chose a little toy each visit which helps little ones look forward to the dentist instead of fearing it. The waiting area has a play house with lots of books and toys and a regular sitting area for parents n older siblings to sit comfortably. They also have a tv in waiting room and in waiting area inside and above dental chairs so kids can be focused on a show of their choosing during the cleaning or procedure. There's several dentist at this location and they allow you to see who is available first or who you prefer. We are new so we do not have a preference but I like that they have that option.

My clear retainers keep cracking, and I already had to pay $150 for a replacement. They continue to break, and when I asked Miranda if there were any permanent retainer options--either here or elsewhere--she completely shut me down. She was dismissive, rude, and made me feel like my concerns didn't matter. It honestly feels like once your braces are off and you've finished paying, they stop caring. I expected long-term support after such a big investment, and I'm disappointed in how poorly the situation was handled.
