Thanks Dave W. for adding this public art to Yelp. This mural was created in 2016 by artists Victor Ving and photographer Lisa Beggs as part of their Greetings Tour. It is on the side of Uncle Tony's Donut Shop which is a record store. Greetings from Orlando joined murals in Raymour MO, Sandusky OH, Bend OR, Union County GA, Cooperstown NY and many more. They have worked with over 65 communities across 28 states to paint their modern day postcard inspired murals. Locals were asked for suggestions on what landmarks, nature, history and culture images should be included in the mural. Images of the the Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain in Lake Eola, Epcot and the Disney monorail, Milk District, the citrus industry, a tribute to Wet N' Wild and Bar BQ Bar, and Orlando City Soccer Club and Orlando Magic were chosen. If you look very closely the artists painted themselves in the swan boat in the Lake Eola scene in the letter O. I love a postcard mural. You can use it as a backdrop for your photos and everyone will instantly know where you are. This one really captured the soul of Orlando.

You can't miss this mural on the side of Toho Square Parking Garage. It is the 12th mural in The…read moretime For Art Is Now public art project funded by Osceola Arts in downtown historic Kissimmee. The mural is called Exploding Kingfisher and it was painted in 2021 by artist Chris Maslow from Melbourne Florida. He chose to use the Kingfisher because it is a bird native to Kissimmee Florida. He wanted you to be able to feel the movement, growth, and acceleration of the bird in the piece. I love the colors in the mural and the dynamic movement of the bird. I have followed many photographers on Facebook who have tried for years to capture the moment a kingfisher hits the water. They are a beautiful bird and I love how this one was captured on the mural.

The Alligator Wrestler statue in Heritage Square Park is a beloved spot for visitors to take a…read morephoto. It's whimsical subject matter and depiction of history makes it is one of my favorite public artworks in downtown Orlando. You can find it at the entrance to the Orange County Regional History Center. In 1857, Orlando's city limits were platted in Heritage Square Park. Alligator Wrestler pays homage to Orlando's lawless, cow town past rooted in cattle ranching, agriculture, and citrus. Originally known for cattle, Orlando evolved from a small trading post in the 1830's into a bustling cattle and citrus center by the 1890's. In the early 2000's, Alligator Wrestler was sculpted by artist Scott Shaffer, a Colorado-based sculptor known for detailed, realistic wildlife and nature-themed bronze work. This sculpture was inspired by a famous 1884 photograph depicting legendary local figure Bunk Baxter wrestling an alligator. According to legend, Bunk would come to Orlando on Saturdays in the mid 1880's and wrestle an alligator in the middle of a dirt road, which would become Orange Avenue. A picture of Bunk and his alligator companion became an iconic image of Orlando's colorful, wild past. Now Bunk and the alligator are a part of many people's treasured memories of visiting modern day Orlando.

This statue reminds us all that there was a Florida before the theme parks and it was a wild and often dangerous place. It is not a huge statue by any means, pretty much life-sized, but it does make a statement and show us what Florida was like before we built it up. Our history is important to us and we must remember it.

A wonderful commemorative mural in the overflow parking lot for track shack off of Mills Ave. It's…read morealways nice to see not just artistic murals but ones with a meaningful purpose as well! This one is a tribute to the Pulse incident and shows our city's pride and solidarity despite the things we've faced. This one is located next to another beautiful mural across the way from the main track shack building in their 'overflow' lot. They don't have much parking on site so this lot is where most people park anyways so it's super easy to get to and take a snap. Overall: A++ Love this meaningful and well done mural!!

I know I will never truly understand it and it will forever live in my mind, heart and soul. But, what I am taking from it is nothing but love. I will continuously pray for those lost, their loved ones and our city as a whole. I am so very grateful to live in a city that is so inclusive and supportive and we are truly blessed to see the outpouring of love and respect that has risen from this terrible time. I adore this brand new addition to our loving city so that we keep this reminder close; that Love will ALWAYS win! I surely paid attention to this cross walk, & joyfully saw it during a Puerto Rican Street Parade. It's very close to Stemma Coffee Shop. While exploring downtown St. Cloud, I came across the St. Cloud Sugar Belt Railway mural next to…read morethe local VFW Post. I enjoy historic trains and railroad history, so it caught my attention. The mural by Maria Arenas & Susi Sotois is part of the St. Cloud Historic Mural Trail, a collection of public artworks that celebrates and preserves the city's rich heritage. The trail is also connected to a larger statewide network that links Florida communities through public mural art. The St. Cloud Sugar Belt Railway was founded in 1888 by Hamilton Disston to serve his sugar plantation and mill on the eastern shore of Lake Tohopekaliga, an area that would later become St. Cloud. The railroad opened in November 1890, running from Kissimmee through the St. Cloud plantation to Narcoossee. Its trains transported sugar, vegetables, other agricultural products, passengers, and freight. The railroad played an important role in the region's early development. In 1917, a brick station replaced the original wooden depot, which was known as Sunny Side. Over the years, the line came under the ownership of the South Florida Railroad and later the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, where it operated as the Narcoossee Branch. The railroad was ultimately abandoned in 1942. One of the line's reminders is the 1918 passenger depot in St. Cloud, which still stands today. The historic building now serves as the local VFW Post, a neighbor to this mural that honors the community's railroad heritage.

This particular piece features a little girl glowing bubbles over a tropical looking plant and features a heavy usage of the color blue. Overall a really good piece that is part of a cool art initiative in an area that will attract a lot of viewers.
