Bill was so friendly taking the time to explain and showed me many options of carpet. I was all over the place not sure on what I really wanted. Bill was not aggressive Or too opinionated. He was very patient to listen to my concerns. I finally agreed to a carpet, that met my needs. I chose a very high-end carpet with durability. He was a couple hundred dollars less than Home Depot. Scheduling for the carpet was immediate, and the installer was very clean and fast. I have no complaints besides the price was a little more expensive than other carpet dealers, but I'm not sure if they would've given me the same great service. I wasn't going to write this review because I was fortunate enough to make the wise choice to NOT do business with Bill Norris, the owner before it was too late. Since he has made the critical error of trying to dispute my Visa charge, I am making time to warn others of my unacceptable experience with him and Carpet Direct Temecula. I see he has other five star reviews here, which quite frankly, shocks me. Allow me to share my experience with Bill and Carpet Direct Temecula. I walked into his store for the first time on May 15, 2017. I walked past Bill, while he stood outside having a personal conversation with friends. Ten minutes (plus) later, I was beginning to think he was not the owner / employee because during that whole time, he never even acknowledged my presence in his store. Really? This is how you treat a customer? That was fail #1. I took a deep breath and decided to give him another chance, since he was the one who did the flooring in my home initially. We scheduled an appointment for him to come out and give me an estimate the following day, May 16, 2017. Bill did a "no show, no call" on my appointment. His excuse was that he thought I was another customer, who called and cancelled that morning. Okay, so does that mean you showed up for that other customer appointment? That customer didn't tell you he/she called and cancelled? Wow! What a lame excuse! That was fail #2. I gave him yet another chance and rescheduled an appointment for two days later. This time, he did manage to show up. Unlike other flooring estimators, he did not give me a quote that day. He said he would email a quote to me, when he got back to his office. Kind of sounds like the same day, right? Or at least the same week? Nope. I did not get an estimate from Bill until I CALLED HIM four weeks later. His excuse this time was that he did not have my correct email. Really? I gave him my email address on my first visit into his store. I noted that he jotted it down on some random piece of paper, but I gave it to him a second time when he came out to measure. That being said, if you didn't have my correct email address, why don't you pick up the phone and call me? By now, I am really beginning to question how he has managed to stay in business. That was fail #3. After receiving the estimate, I decided to go ahead and place an order for the flooring. This was done over the phone on June 21, 2017. Bill told me that a "sale" was ending on the flooring I selected, so would I like to go ahead and place the order that day? Kind of sounded like a sales ploy to get me to make a decision immediately, but I needed the flooring so I placed the order for $1910.00. I was told that it would take two to three weeks and that he would call me when it was received. He asked me if he could store it in my garage, until I was ready for it to be installed. No problem, I said, and I made room in my garage. Forty-two days later, no call from Bill about the disposition of my flooring. Did you order it? Did you receive it? Just when were you going to follow up with me to let me know what's going on? That was fail #4. By now, I have pretty much had it! How many chances do you give a person before you realize what a flake he is? I called on July 31, 2017 and spoke to an employee. I said it was imperative that I speak to Bill that day. This was sometime in the late morning. I was told Bill would return in an hour, two hours at the most. This employee assured me Bill would get my message as soon as he returned. No call back that day, fail #5. I sat down and wrote Bill a detailed email about why I no longer chose to do business with him. I included in that email all of the reasons (fails) why I would not / could not do business with him. Flooring is a big investment and it is not cheap. At the very least, I want to feel good about the decision(s) I made. Bill's inability to deliver anything that vaguely resembles good customer service, made it impossible for me to feel good about doing business with him. Furthermore, I explained, I contacted my credit card company and I have filed a formal dispute of the charge for $1910.00. I just learned yesterday (Sept 17, 2017) that Bill rejected the charge back! So, to date, I have received NO GOODS or SERVICES, and he expects to be paid? What universe do you live on? Are you kidding me? I emailed him again immediately, and he is playing the "it's my bank's fault" game. Yeah, been there, done that! He is forcing me to spend even more of my time, trying to get my money back for a CANCELLED JOB! I suspect that Bill has "other business problems" besides his ridiculously unacceptable customer service. As I sit here and write this, I am amazed he manages to keep his doors open. He may have been very good at one time, but that's certainly not the case anymore. One thing for sure, his competition has nothing to worry about! read more

This flooring company is the worst you can find, nobody answers the phone which is so unprofessional and the job they do is embarrassing. The workers who installed laminate on my floor in my was unleveled and the there was no silicone installed on my baseboards and they were gap all under the baseboards and they damage all my door frames after they were just painted. It felt like the workers had no idea what they were doing and it was their first time doing this and when I confronted the owner bill he did not answer the phone or text messages. Some of the laminate he put on my floors were also damaged which is why in all I would never recommend nobody to do their floors here there are scammers by taking so much money from me and can't even do their job right. I wanted my floors done professionally which is why I paid so much for it to be done but this company is just so bad they are not even good at what their company is for. If I knew how unprofessional this company would have been I would have never let them ever do a floor again. Don't do business with these flooring scammers. read more

We had our vinyl flooring put in about two months ago. I don't know why I waited so long to write a review but just wanted to put in my two cents worth if it helps someone! From start to finish Bill and the crew were awesome. He contacted me through yelp as did many other companies but Bill was just so much more personable as well as knowledgeable. We had carpet and tile that needed to be removed and the guys that came to demo the floors were great! Hard workers, great manners, and they cleaned up very well in-spite of the dusty mess that was our entire first level. I wish I could remember their names! When the demo was finished, Russ and his son did the installation. They were just as fantastic. We have a doggy door built into our wall that they had to work around and they made the area look great. Their attention to detail is so apparent in the fine work they do. Extremely hard working, they even finished a day early! On top of all that though, they are just such a great company to work with. They cleaned up very well after everything was finished, in fact cleaning up as they went. I don't know if you're like me but I like to get to know the people that are spending long hours in my home, even if they are just on a "job". I bought breakfast and lunch for the demo guys that spent the entire day in my home and made sure Russ and his son (Cyril?) were taken care of as well. Carpet direct took the stress out of our recent remodel. This was our first time using Carpet direct and we are beyond pleased with the results. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Bill replaced all of the flooring in my house, most of which is a beautiful brickset pattern with 18x18" tile. It is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm thankful to him and his expertise on helping me decide on my crazy indecisiveness with color matching of tile, carpet and grout, and giving me his professional input without swaying me in any direction. He never tried to up-sell me. He gave clear choices and described everything very thoroughly. Once I finally decided (and yes, he was very patient with me!), he started the job in less than a week! I enjoyed the 4 days that he and his crew were here. He is very easy to talk to, friendly, funny, and yet remained completely professional. On top of all this, he hid the imperfections of the house (crooked walls/bowed baseboards here and there) that were easily visible with the old wood floors. This house looks like a model home now!
