The great thing about this pub is that they were willing to serve me a beer even though they were closing up. Actually, it seems to be more than just a roadside pub because it appears that they also run outback tours. In a way this pub is somewhat more touristy, but that is because it is on a major highway which actually bypasses Port Pirie, so it provides for a nice stop so you don't have to go into town. Oh, and they also have some nice beers on tap, which I admit is pretty cool. read more

Wow! One of my favorites while visiting Australia. We had randomly stop by for a roadside lunch and was greatly surprised by the food. Slightly larger portion then what I was suspecting for a lunch but it was so good it turn out for the better. I had the crispy salmon and my friend had the pork chops. I would definitely recommend this place and there is a nice outside area to eat on those sunny days. read more

My friend and I were driving back to Adelaide after our shark cage dive in Port Lincoln. We were hungry and it looked like there wasn't any other place for a while. We expected the usual bar food with maybe some chips. Instead we were brought out food that looked like it had been cooked on a cruise ship or super fine restaurant. I wondered if a highly skilled chef had retired to this area and was now making food in their kitchen. The food presentation was fantastic and tasted even better than it already looked.
