Dr Bunce and the staff here are pretty amazing and I'm not sure I can say enough about them. Not only are they kind and always greeted me with a smile, but the care I received was on another level. A while ago I had a weigh lifting accident that resulted in 2 bulged discs and for about a year I was in tremendous pain and literally couldn't stand up straight. I had the kind of pain that I couldn't continue living with...it was literally that bad! I went to a "regular doctor" and they put shots into my spine on 2 separate occasions which didn't work at all and then suggested surgery. That's when I started looking elsewhere to seek other council. I actually tried another chiropractor first but his methods were a bit outdated and I wasn't getting much relief and I wasn't making any lasting progress. I was never very knowledgable of chiropractors and what they did, or more accurately, what they were able to do and how they approached injuries. I was down in SC for a time and met with Dr Bunce to discuss my injury (and it was reassuring to me knowing that he graduated from Palmer which is the top chiropractic school in the country). After hearing what he planned to do...something dawned on me. The "regular doctors" I had seen wanted to treat my symptoms and mask the pain whereas Dr Bunce wanted to fix the root problem. He and his staff took the time to fully explain the methods and philosophy behind what they planned for me. He put me on a plan so that I could get to the point where I'd never have to visit them again. It was so refreshing to hear a doctor tell me that as opposed to wanting my residual business. He was patient in his explanation, logical and I was 100% crystal clear on my situation after my first visit. That doesn't happen often leaving any doctor's office, lol. I was confident I was in good hands. After working with them, I got back to about 95% which I seriously never thought possible. I have been dealing with a degenerating disc for 23 years now. Last November it finally twinged and I could barely walk. My doctor told me that the only option I had was surgery because my disc was about half way out of place. That was an unacceptable option to me. I started at Healthsource in December 2015 and have been going regularly getting my adjustments, doing the exercises, getting spinal decompression, and restricting my lifting (which can be extensive at times) and have experienced a huge improvement. Since my disc was so far out of whack it is surprising to me how much improvement has been made. I no longer need to have my cane...I don't even carry it in my car "just in case" anymore. I recently went on one of my many work trips which requires me to sit in a car cross-country for 12-16 hours a day, then unload a trailer once we arrive at our destination. I also went two weeks abroad traveling with a tour group on a bus across Ireland which was a LOT of sitting and bumpy roads. Not once did I need my heating pad at night or my back brace. It was amazing! I have needed both of those things every time I load and unload for the past 15 years. I still get biweekly adjustments to keep an eye on my progress. You never know how important good health is until you don't have it anymore. Lower back pain/spasms, migraine headaches, neck pain have impacted my life.
