When my daughter was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a…read moremotorcyclist, our family found ourselves facing what we believed were completely unwarranted vehicular manslaughter charges. It was the most difficult and stressful experience we have ever endured, lasting over two and a half years. From day one, Jay Monico and the entire team at Sevens Legal stood beside us. We weren't looking for an attorney who would simply encourage a plea deal--we needed someone who would thoroughly investigate the facts, challenge the prosecution, and fight tirelessly for justice. Jay exceeded every expectation. The evidence showed that the motorcyclist was allegedly racing at an extremely high speed on a city street and should not have been operating the motorcycle. Despite those facts, charges were still pursued against my daughter. Throughout the case, Jay remained steadfast, fearless, and completely committed to ensuring that the law--not emotion or public pressure--guided the proceedings. One of the things that impressed us most was Jay's willingness to stand his ground. He challenged the prosecution at every turn and never backed down when he believed the law was on our side. His persistence, meticulous preparation, and knowledge of evolving California case law ultimately helped secure a favorable outcome for my daughter after more than two and a half years of litigation. This case took an enormous emotional and financial toll on our family, but having Jay in our corner gave us confidence that someone was truly fighting for us every step of the way. We will always be grateful for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication. If you are looking for a criminal defense attorney who genuinely cares about his clients, is exceptionally knowledgeable, and will fight relentlessly for the best possible outcome, I cannot recommend Jay Monico and Sevens Legal highly enough. I sincerely hope I never need a criminal defense attorney again, but if I--or anyone I care about--ever does, Jay Monico will be my very first call.

I had spotted the firm's name a number of times in years past on San Diego billboards but beyond that I was unfamiliar with RJS. Thankfully, when I dialed their offices I was met with an immediate warm greeting and full attention to my matter. What followed was a refreshing exchange with one of their attorneys. At the time I was traveling overseas and their team managed to make my top priority, their priority - working with my time zone challenges, panicky manner (never want to be on the opposing side of the FTB), and my half-baked understanding of the underlying issue. Their team was thorough, efficient, and above all informative and calming. What felt like a gigantic mountain to climb became a matter that together we resolved. Grateful for the professionalism and personal care shared with me. I don't wish for any future tax issues, but if issues arise in the future, I know whose shoulder I'm leaning on for trustworthy counsel. Thank you, Team RJS. JTA

From the beginning, he made grand promises about what he could accomplish--things I now know were completely unrealistic, if not outright impossible. But of course, he had no problem taking money up front. After that? Silence. Missed deadlines, ignored emails, and a pattern of dodging responsibility. Every now and then he'd respond, usually with vague excuses or more empty reassurances. It was exhausting, frustrating, and ultimately fruitless. After months and months of this, I had no choice but to file a formal complaint with the California Bar Association. Only then did I finally receive a partial refund. In November 2024, Marc told me he was mailing the remainder of that refund. Guess what? It never arrived--and I haven't heard from him since. I've followed up repeatedly via phone and email, and he's completely ghosted me. Marc is unprofessional, unethical, and dishonest. He preys on people in vulnerable positions and vanishes once he's gotten what he wants. Please, don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far, far away.
