I first started coming to MLC three years ago for violin lessons for my daughter. Karen Fohr, her…read morecurrent teacher has challenged her to improve while driving her interest at the same time. I can't be more enthusiastic about her method, passion or credentials. She is truly amazing. In addition, Musicians Learning Center has gone way out of their way to be understanding about the business end of things. It's always pleasant to deal with them, and Melissa never tires of my questions when I don't understand something. She's also happy to work around vacation schedules and other general nuttiness in our lives. If I had one criticism, it would be to complain that I wish their office was closer to Holly Springs., which is where we moved to. I recommend them without reservation and encourage you to seek them out for your music learning needs.

Panos was extremely helpful in keeping me on track with my goals and supportive the entire time. I felt odd as an older person taking lessons but Panos didn't struggle at all to switch between giving his lessons to elementary school kids and myself back to back. He is a professional, a fantastic instructor, and a wonderful pianist. CHSMA staff were also easy to deal with and helped me get on my way.

While we ultimately did not…read morefind our perfect piano in this store just due to the available inventory, we were thoroughly impressed by Bobby Charlton, the general manager. He was generous with his time over the phone when I called in advance with questions, and in the store in-person. He is very knowledgeable about piano quality and history and taught us an enormous amount that helped us define what we were looking for and determine the value and longevity of each instrument. There was a wide selection of about 10 used uprights ranging from $1200 spinets and consoles to $2500 studio uprights. We experienced no pressure to settle or buy, just friendly and informed conversation. He provides a 3-year warranty and 5-year trade up guarantee to a grand piano, as well as a free in-home tuning after delivery. Don't buy a used piano off of Craigslist when there are so many affordable, warrantied options available from a reputable, knowledgeable business!

Buyers take caution... First the positive - Sound Pure has a…read moregreat selection of guitars and other musical instruments. Their staff are great and their shipping speeds are almost instant. Now the negative - Should you receive an instrument that requires a return, the nightmare begins. I purchased a $3500 Collings guitar. When I requested information on the condition of the guitar, I was told "It's perfect. I hate perfect but it's perfect" - The guitar arrived and it was less than perfect. Dings, dents and scratches all over the guitar. The bridge was also replaced. I requested a return label for a full refund. The label arrived the next morning and the guitar was shipped back to them, arriving back to the store 24 hours later. I was told that they cannot refund credit card transactions (first red flag) and needed to send me a check. 2 weeks went by with no sign of a refund. I was then told a check was cut and I would be receiving it overnight. Another week went by with no sign of the refund. I sent a message stating that I would be filing a dispute if the tracking number was not provided. I never received the tracking, so a dispute was filed. Magically, the check was sent out 48 hours after the dispute was filed. Check arrived and to my surprise, the refund amount was $250 less than the purchase price. Though the guitar did not arrive as described, Sound Pure found it appropriate to hold back $250. Buyers beware - I have purchased over $20,000 in guitars from this store. I have requested assistance with solving this issue, but have not received a response. Please be aware that if you are not pleased with your order, this will most likely happen to you also. Huge disappointment. Feel free to reach out should you have any questions or would like any additional information.
