Fleet Feet has the best customer service, hands down. Their employees know the products and can give first-hand accounts on use, comfort, feel, etc. For example - they will tell you how various gels and hydration drinks taste, the different feel of socks and shoe brands, the feel of compression socks, etc. They are passionate about what they do/the products they offer and it shows. If you need running shoes you absolutely must go to Fleet Feet. They will test your foot, check size, and then recommend a shoe and watch you run up and down the street to see if it's the correct fit. You'd think that as a local store their prices would be high but they are comparable to online stores and, in some cases, even cheaper. I needed a pair of Balega running socks and checked online but the shipping would take about a week+ and they ran about $16 so I called Fleet Feet. Kathy is awesome! She spent a lot of time making sure she explained things to me without overwhelming me with a bunch of terminology or useless information. They just got a new foot scanner which provided a ton of details about my feet before she watched me walk to check for any pronation or glaring feet issues. Then she brought out three pairs of shoes and a couple inserts to help support my high arches. After four or five configurations and four quick jogs down to the corner and back, I have the most comfortable pair of running shoes! I can't wait to go on a run this week! read more

I'm a late septuagenarian with bad feet and arthritis, and good shoes are essential for my main exercise: walking. The last pair I got at Fleet Feet seemed good enough when I bought it, but after a few days problems developed. Instead of returning it I kept wearing it thinking they will get better, until I thought it was too late to return them. I had to get another shoe if I didn't want to totally cripple myself. At the store, a young lady, named Whitney, came to help me. To make a long story short, she brought out lots of shoes for me to try on, and what impressed me most was that instead of giving me advice, she listened to me, to what my problem was with each new pair I tried on, and the next one she brought out diminished that problem, until finally she got me a pair that seemed perfect in every respect. When I told her my hesitation, worrying how the shoe will fit in a couple of weeks, she strongly encouraged me to bring it back if any problem developed. In fact, she checked on the store's computer how long ago I bought the previous shoe, and as it turned out it was still within the 90 days limit for returning them, she took them back and took off their price from the price of the new shoes. Now, a couple of weeks later, the shoes she found me feel even more comfortable, my posture, gait and speed improved, the callouses from the old shoes are healing. I've been in the store several times and during each visit I was annoyed. The women are not friendly. I am however very friendly and hardly write reviews... But I'm just sick of cranky people being rude to people who want to spend money in their store. This place was recommended to me by a coworker and she gets all of her work shoes here. Best shoe store ever. I experienced a severe foot injury in October. I hobbled around for three weeks including doctors visits. The injury recurred about a week ago. I hobbled for two days and then it resolved. Having tried every shoe I owned, I was still hurting. My girlfriend recommended Fleet Feet in Davis. Since I live in Dixon it was easy to get to. Was I ever amazed! They asked me my problem, consulted with each other, had me sit, and actually measured my foot sitting and standing. They explained exactly what they thought might be the problem. They brought out 4 options and explained the benefits of each. One pair the sales associate told me she wasn't comfortable with because it looked too narrow of a base. I absolutely love every time I visit this store!! I am a pretty curvy girl and they have by far the best sports bras! Buy them. You will not regret it. Also I happen to have broken my foot twice and have had a rough time getting back into running and even walking long distances. I went in and tried on some Brooks and Hokas and I am in heaven, I purchased the Hoka One One and it has changed my life. My feet feel good! I actually choose to walk places now!! I have a running injury and came in at the suggestion of my physical therapist. After buying what I thought would help, I realized after several days that the shoe was not going to fit the bill. I came back in and had no problem exchanging the shoe. The woman spent an hour with me until I found the perfect shoe, even in my budget range. The staff is fantastic and extremely knowledgable. This place is terrific. I've only lived in Davis a few months, having left behind a shoe store in Michigan that allowed its customers to try out shoes for ONE MONTH--including going outside. (I believe they gave any returned shoes to charity.) I feared it would be hard to top that, but Fleet Feet let me to wear the shoes for a week before deciding, which is probably enough time. The gal who fitted me, Carol, was both informed and welcoming. AND, I'm very happy with the shoes. I have the feeling they really care about their customers. I really needed running shoes and since my family has always gone to Fleet Feet, that's where we went today. However, this time we had a unique request. I'm currently being treated for mold exposure and while on treatment, I can't go into any buildings that may have mold. So my mom came with me and she went inside to explain the situation and see if they were willing to work with my special needs and fit me for running shoes outside. They did and it was a wonderful experience. Julia was so helpful and made the process so easy! It was as if they always fit people for shoes outside! We had a fantastic experience here. My fiance and I went in looking for new running shoes for him, as he was having shin problems likely due to his old shoes. The staff was welcoming, and one man started to work with us (Jesse, I think it was). He was obviously knowledgeable and really friendly. He took so much time to properly fit shoes to my fiance, let him run around outside to test them, and really listened to us. I will never go anywhere else to buy running shoes. LOVE! I was immediately helped when I walked in the door! She measured my feet, and immediately brought out 4 pairs of track spikes and she had me try them on, and had me walk on a mat. She gave me her opinion and asked me how they all felt, and we agreed on the New Balance shoes. She showed me how to put in the spikes and she put them in for me!!! I'm starting to train for my fourth marathon and decided to try Fleet Feet for my new shoes. About a week ago, I started getting a lot of calf pain/ tightness during and after my runs. I had been running in a minimalist shoe, so I switched back to my really old, more supportive shoes. That didn't fix the problem and I ended up skipping two of my training runs because of the calf pain. I thought a new pair of shoes might help- and they did! I went in to Fleet Feet today and the employees there were super helpful. I explained the problems I'd been having and tried several shoes there. I still had calf pain in the first few pairs I tried, even from a short run in front of the store. The man who helped me was extremely helpful and patient and finally found a shoe that worked perfectly. After buying the shoes, I went on a 1.5 hour run with absolutely no pain at all. I'm still working on rolling it, etc. after I run, but at least it doesn't hurt during the run anymore! I was very happy with my experience at Fleet Feet in Davis. They have a great crew who put in the time to make sure you really are in the right shoes. Prices seemed pretty standard. read more
