I found a hair in my food, it couldn't have been mine I'm wearing a hat. It's not that hard to wear a hair net specially when working with food.

Chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice

I usually go here all the time but this time when I went, there's a new guy serving and got chicken with bone and hardly any chicken on top Looks like he just threw the rice in sloppy. It also had some burnt chicken.

I think it's only fair to update my review from 4 years ago. Back then this location just opened and it was an abomination of all that was teriyaki. Undercooked rice, stingy on the meat, etc. It was the Anti-Flame Broiler of franchise locations. My friend and co-worker who was with me during that horrible lunch in 2010 returned recently and told me it was really good. I was skeptical but figured I'd give this place another try. The staff is all different now so maybe it's under new management or owner. I've been three times now over the last month and each time has been excellent. Perfectly steamed rice, nice portion of juicy gristle free chicken, and steamed veggies. Doused with magic sauce, hot sauce, and pickled jalapenos made for a damn good lunch and it's been consistent on each of my three visits. I'm a fan of FB so I'm glad to see this location is better than my first visit. There's a ton of FB locations near by work but this one appears to be the cleanest with plenty of seating so it's the most convenient. Now it's time to spread the Flame Broiler gospel! And thou shalt placeth sweetened nectar on topeth of grilled slices of animal flesh topeth steamed plants picked from thine earth topeth steamed grains removed from thy hulls...... And thou shalt eateth this weekly..... So it is written.....So it shall be done.

A little too literal for me. "Skinless" is moe culinary sounding.

I dunno, there's something about a small portion of lightly seasoned cooked meat on top of plain rice that is just underwhelming. I will read the 5-star reviews (if any) and see what I am missing.

The finger foods was Asian‑inspired, with flavors like black sesame, curry, and other creative twists that made each bite feel unique. Every piece was thoughtfully made, rich, and decadent without feeling repetitive, and the presentation was beautiful across the board. It definitely felt like a more elevated, modern take on afternoon tea. The tea itself, however, fell a bit short for me. I ordered a non‑caffeinated chrysanthemum tea, which unfortunately didn't have much depth or flavor. My friend's Darjeeling was better, but still not as rich or complex as I've had elsewhere. Given how strong the Asian inspiration is in the food, it would've been nice to see more thoughtful decaf tea options in that same direction, like decaf sencha, barley tea, or kuromamecha, to better match the concept. Price: The afternoon tea service is prix fixe at around $45 per person, which includes a curated set of savory bites, desserts, and a pot of tea. For the quality and creativity of the food, the price feels pretty reasonable compared to other OC tea services, though the tea itself didn't quite meet the same level as the food. Ambiance: The space is bright, warm, and inviting, with a nice amount of natural sunlight coming in that makes it feel cozy rather than stuffy. There are subtle Asian design elements woven into the décor, giving it a modern, slightly upscale feel without being overly formal. It's a great spot to catch up with friends and linger over tea. Service: Service was good, friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Even during a busy service, staff remained kind and approachable, which added to the overall relaxed vibe. Parking: Parking can take a bit of effort. Since it's located on a busy street in Orange, you may need to circle around the roundabout or park a little farther away and walk over. Not impossible, but definitely something to plan for, especially on weekends.

This is a really cute place!…read more Service is wonderful and friendly. Food is flavorful and good proportion. Pricing is comparable for Old Town Orange. The place is clean and has nice decor. Nice ambiance!

But then I happen to go during happy hour and lemonades are on sale so I also got the strawberry lemonade. I was only planning on ordering the pho with fillet and I absolutely loved it. You can never really go wrong with a good soup! But I couldn't stop... I had to add from their happy hour! We also added french fries for two dollars and egg rolls for seven dollars! My friend and I feasted and then I wanted to get a couple meals to go for my husband and son so I ordered the jasmine fried rice with shaken steak for my husband, which he loved even reheated! And for my son, the garlic noodles with grilled pork. Since my son didn't come home, I had to take it for myself, and the pork is my favorite thing! I didn't think they could top the pho - it's my absolutely love. The char on the pork is amazing.

Man was I surprised by this one!…read more Dawa Kitchen is a delicious spot nestled in the corner of the plaza. FOOD: The Katsu Curry is easily the best deal on the menu for sharing. For $25 you get a huge chicken katsu with curry pairing. The katsu was crispy, hot, and fresh when it came out. Very tasty! The curry itself is good, but doesn't have the same punch of flavor as other curry katsu places. Still good though! This dish could definitely feed 2 people. We also opted for the Ddeokbokki. This dish had great flavor and the rice cakes were cooked perfectly! Just as a heads up, if you are used to Ddeokbokki having extra's like fish cake and cheese, this does not come with it unless added. Overall, for value and flavor this is great! PARKING: Parking is tight in the complex and I would recommend getting there early just in case there's none available. WAIT/AMBIANCE: This place was packed when we arrived with a clear waitlist of 5+ parties. Try to get on the Yelp waitlist ahead of time to make sure you get seated in a timely manner. You can also look to make a reservation as that was also faster for me! Overall ambiance is good, and the restaurant was playing some Justin Bieber! DRINKS: For a casual dining place we opted to get soju and a beer as it was $10 per bottle. Also not too bad of a deal to pair with your meal! Overall would recommend this place! Delicious and great value!

Cons: - everything was a bit sweet - the pork katsu was a bit bland as well as the mac salad side dish - the pork katsu sort of peeled away from the meat because of the heat of the dish overall: - great service, big portions, would visit again! just beware if you want a spicer version of these dishes and a stronger taste. the katsu could have been a bit crisper as well, I think the bibimbap was done very well. the dishes are served in a stone plate keeping them hot through the meal
